Question Question for Mike T.

Hi Mike,

This question doesn't really relate to the Superchip(but maybe in the long-run it does)
I've read in other threads about guys using different types of motor oils and oil filters. A lot recommend synthetic oil for there trucks. What oil do you recommend in conjunction with the Superchip? and what do you think of Pennzoil and it's filters?

Thanks Again Mike!
MGD1

PS The Superchip reminds me of a microwave oven. Once you buy it you wonder how you ever did without it

Hi MGD1,

Hmm, the Superchip is like a microwave oven, eh? That's another new one on me!

Amsoil makes a great synthetic oil, as does Red Line, However, neither are generally available off the shelf in your local auto parts stores, but instead are handled by direct distributors.

We are using Mobil 1 synthetic in a weight of 10W-30 year round in all our vehicles. We are also using their oil filters, which are a bit pricey. For most uses, that is what we generally recommend. The 10W-30 is plenty light enough viscosity to flow well in even the winters we get here in the mountains of Virginia, where we can see winter temps as low as 20 below zero and even colder sometimes.

Good luck!
