Run in with jeep
I was on my way home last night when a car of teenagers pulled next to me in their jeep wrangler. I saw the 4.0 H.O. badge on the side but thought nothing of it. Anyways the light turns green and we are both making a left turn. He burries the hammer on the outside lane and gets a one car length jump on me. I could not gas it till I was straightened out because my tires would have gone up in smoke. When I got a chance to hammer it that jeep was pulling pretty darn good until about 45. Then I started to pass him and gained about 3 lengths on him....He threw in the towel and that was that. It makes me wonder if he was stock or had mods...

Hi Slick X,
Those 4.0 inline 6's from Mopar make 190 horsepower bone stock in most model years, so they can be pretty quick due to how light they are.
That looks like a very nice Expy!

Slick X--
I've got a '95 Wrangler with the 4.0 190hp Inline Six which was my daily driver before I got my SuperCrew (wife's got it now
). There's not many vehicles I wouldn't take on from a standing start for a short stretch. Those Jeeps only weigh 3000# and, as Mike T. so kindly pointed out to me when he heard me crying because I nearly got beat in my SuperCrew by a Dodge Caravan, the power-to-weight ratio is a good bit higher.
Thanks to a suggestion by Raoul, I now carry a pair of Groucho glasses (the ones with the caterpiller eyebrows and big nose) in my 'Crew to wear as I go lumbering through that intersection near my house where I used to blow everyone away in my Jeep. Needless to say, my wife refuses to carry on the tradition.
