Mike...new 04' tuner?
Mike...new 04' tuner?
I was just curious when the tuner will be available? I know you can reflash, but I am waiting on the tuner.
I spoke to you on the phone and you told me to hold off for the tuner. I just want to get an estimate so I can set aside funds. Also, the new intake you spoke of and fan kit as well. Any idea?
Thanks. I am looking forward to adding the ponies.

Hi HB!
Current estimates are sometime in late July for the 1714 (the new "standard" Micro Tuner for the 2004 F-150), and then hopefully in August for the custom-tune capable version in which we can do our own tuning.
Our dual 16" electric fan kit for the 2004 F-150 IS DONE!!
I'd say we need about 14 days or so for me to write the new installation manual, and then we'll start shipping. We have already done all the R&D, installed the prototypes & tested, and have already shot all the pictures, documented the installation, etc. So now we just need time to source a few extra components in large quantities, and write the new installation manual specifically for the 2004 F-150, and we can ship. We're actually taking orders for our e-fan kit for the 204 F-150 starting yesterday, and telling everyone it will be roughly 2 weeks before they actually ship.
We're still in R&D on the new Air Force One intake kit - we're not taking the simple approach as True Flow & some others of late are who don't even replace the restrictive stock airbox - it's an all-new assembly from start to finish, and is simply taking time for both us and AF1 to do everything and actually do proper testing (not just simple dyno testing, but racing & actual on-the-road stuff - top speed, towing, etc.) - all the fabrication we request for each change & then get that to us, so we can do all the testing all over again - and then identify the next changes, etc. And so it goes....

I am going to wait for the custom tuning I think. I want the most power on 93 octane. So, if the standard tuning will give me that I can go with it compared to the custom tuning. But, I prefer to get the most power and still be a daily driver.
Also, what kind of power are you getting from these fans? I noticed it isnt posted on your site yet for the new F-150. What kind of price are we looking at?
I would call, but you are always busy man. LOL!!

Hi HB,
The power gain from the e-fans is virtually the same on just about any FoMoCo truck or SUV - about 15 HP at the rear wheels on an eddy-current dyno, and 1-3 more mpg.
Pricing of any of our products cannot be discussed here, as that is against the rules of F-150 Online - for that info, you'll need to call. You don't need to talk to me directly, our staff handles most matters so that my time can be spent where it needs to be, doing our custom tuning, doing R&D, etc. - you know the score, I'm happy to take calls when I'm in, of course.
This 2004 model year has been a lot like the last time Ford redesigned the F-150, for the 1997 model year - so there's a *lot* of all-new R&D that has to be done to get the various performance parts on the market for the 2004 F-150's. That's why I've been in and out more than normal ever so often, having to do a lot of traveling for various R&D projects on the 2004 F-150.
We probably will not be posting the e-fan kit for the 2004 on our web site until next week or so - I had really wanted to wait until I have actually finished writing the installation manual. I got about 1/3 of it done over the weekend, but this next week we'll be working on the FFW meet at Virginia Motorsports Part in Richmond, VA this weekend, so the 2004 manual will hopefully be done in about 10-14 days or so - then at that point, it'll go up on our web site.
Talk to you soon!
