"Ford Expedition/Lincoln Navigator
The Ford Expedition has become an incredibly popular sports utility vehicle, but it does have its problems.
Although it is equipped with a huge V8 engine the weight of this SUV makes it sluggish at the bottom end and leaves a lot to be desired on hills and when towing. The truck has a lot of potential though and by adding a Superchips module you can see a noticeable difference.
To increase performance we made a number of changes to the stock program. To begin with we changed the stock program to run on high-octane fuel. In order to correspond with the high octane we altered the fuel curve to run leaner due to premium gas burning slower. With these changes alone the vehicle gave an immediate response. Next to give more power in the bottom and mid range where it was needed most, the ignition curves were altered every 400RPM from idle to full throttle. This improved performance on the hills, off the line and when towing. We then altered the transmission for firmness and shift points to give a little more power. We took a close look at the driveability of the vehicle and made some changes throughout to make driving the Expedition even more enjoyable.
By making all these changes to the stock program, the Superchips program offers you the extra power you need. By just adding a Superchips module we have managed to give the Expedition an increase in horsepower of 10%-15% and between 12%-17% in torque. For the 4.6L there is an increase of 23HP and an extra 43ft/lb torque and for the 5.4L there is an increase of 25HP and an extra 49ft/lb torque. The Superchips program has also improved driveability making the Expedition a delight to drive. Both vehicles have a top speed cut-off the 4.6L at 103mph and the 5.4L at 100mph. If you would like the cut off moved our technicians have the capability of moving it to a higher mph if the original cut-off point can be found.
There are unlimited benefits to buying a Superchips module for your Expedition. These large SUV's have a significant amount of power but because of the limits set by the manufacturer the performance leaves a lot to be desired when accelerating and is diabolical when towing or on a hill. The extra HP and torque provided by a Superchips module will aid you whether you are making your SUV into a performance vehicle or whether you are just tired of being left behind and want a highly responsive SUV that can handle well in the fast lane.
The greatest thing about a Superchips module is the ease in which you can gain this extra power. Our module is small, durable and plugs snugly into the back of your SUV's computer that can be easily located. Once plugged in it over rides the computers stock program, if you need to go back to stock for any reason simply unplug the Superchips module and the stock program will run again.
You do not need to take your vehicle to a mechanic or dealer, so there is no extra installation costs and installing a Superchips module won't take up a chunk of your time, you probably won't even get your hands dirty.
All the information we need from you is the year, make and model of your vehicle and the computer code off of the ECU.
If you have any after market modifications to your vehicle
Superchips can, in most cases, create a custom chip to utilize those products. All of our chips come with a 30 day money back guarantee and a life time warranty so why not get your computer code and give Superchips a try."

Hi Jeff,
Welcome to F-150 Online!
You can order your Superchip just by clicking on this link:
https://www.f150online.com/scpp/index.html
That will take you directly to our Performance Products F-150 Online Superchip ordering system.
We do offer Superchips for both of those vehicles. Your friend who got a 5.4 installed in place of the 4.6 may have the original computer, but it has been reflashed to a different software revision for the different engine. The 5.4 is very different, it uses a COP (coil-on plug) ignition system, for starters. At any rate, yes, we can provide Superchip for both of them.
You might want to just give us a call at our number listed below, and we'll be happy to go over all the details with you, and your friend as well if you like, we're happy to help.
With regards to correcting your speedometer errors for those huge tires etc., because both vehicles are 1997's, they are still controlled by a standard reduction gear in the side of the transmission, so your dealerhips or any speedo shop can quickly install the correct gear size to compensate, and that is by far the best way to do it. There is nowhere near as much adjustment range inside the computer for even 33" tires, let alone 39" tires. There is only about 5% adjustment range in the computer, and that is nowhere near enough, so this will need to be done like it always has been, with the proper reduction gear. It's much cheaper that way too! Up thru the 1998 model year on those vehicles, that is the way to do it. Starting in the 1999 model year, it *has* to be done in the computer, and you still have only about 5% adjustment range, roughly.
Just give us a call, and we'll be happy to go over all of this with you!

Hi firedude26,
Good to "see" you again!
Say, I noticed in your signature line you mention a "Tech style tonneau cover", what is that? Is it one of those hard locking types?
