I was wandering why you have to use premium
gas after you install the chip?

The Superchip re-tunes the engine specifically for the use of premium gasoline, that is how most of the raw power gains are made.

Premium gasoline has increased anti-knock properties, and that allows us to use more spark advance, thus making more power. It's not only an issue of spark advance however, as the fuel curves too have to be carefully programmed for higher octane fuel, which burns slower, so that has to be compensated for as well.

The end result is more power, and better mileage as well in most cases.
