Question Question for Mike

Mike, I drive a 1995 F-150 300ci L6. I was wondering what kind of performance specs you have on the 300ci engines? Do they adapt as well as the V style engines with the superchip upgrade? I just got the truck and I'm putting together a list of upgrades and could really use your help. I know for sure I’m putting on a K&N FIPK b/c the factor box is a piece of s#$%.
Thanks ahead of time!

Hi studfisherman,

We like those "Big 6's", as they're called. They are made to produce a lot of torque down low.

They do respond well to the Superchip, gaining 15 horsepower and 31 lbs./ft. of torque.

Going with K&N's FIPK kit is also a good idea, they work very well on these vehicles, as they all have that very restrictive airbox design.

I see that you have installed larger tires, you may have noticed that they hurt your performance a bit, especially getting off the line. The Superchip will tend to help that a bit as well.

In general, your 1995 Big 6 basically responds about the same to most of the more popular bolt-ons, so the top 3 bang-for-the-buck mods on your vehicle are the same as the 97 & later newer F-150's. Optimizing the powertrain programming gets you the most gain for it's cost, then reducing restriction on the intake side using an airbox elimination kit is #2, and #3 is a good cat-back exhaust system.

We will of course need to know your vehicle's computer code, as each Superchip is made for each specific vehicle. On the 1996 & earlier F-150, the code sticker is usually seen by opening the driver's door, and look in the front part of the door frame, in the general area of the door hinges. There should be a sticker there with 3 letters and a number on it, and that is your computer code.

Let me know if you have any trouble locating your computer code, we can easily help you find it.

And we'll also be happy to go over with you any details, and help you put together a list of mods depending on what you want this vehicle to do, etc., just give us a call at our number below and we'll be happy to
help!
