Superchip Install on 97 Expo...
I took a look at that guy's page who shows you how to do a superchip install on a 2G F150. I looked at my truck to see how it looked. Now I know that the computer is probably not in the same position on the F-150 as it is on an Exp, but I looked up and down the interior and engine bay...only to still be confused as to where it is. I noticed that there is about a 1/4-1/2 an inch clearence from the battery to the firewall...So I hope it's not the same installation as on an F-150! Anyway - I just wanted to get an idea of the installation for a 97 expo - thanks!!!
The computer is a large silver box located above the plastic cover on the passenger's side kick panel. You'll have to remove the battery in order to access the wiring harness' 10mm bolt on the engine compartment side of the firewall. It's really not that difficult even though it seems the engine compartment on an X is more crowded than an F150s.

Dear White Expo,
The computer is located in the same basic place on the Expedition as it is on the 97 & newer F-150.
Like nomo mentioned, you will just need to remove the battery and it's tray, which will take you just a few minutes, so you can access the wiring harness there on the firewall, where it connects to the front of the computer.
Installation time on the Expy is maybe 5-10 minutes longer than on the F-150. The F-150's do generally have more room between the battery and the firewall, which makes it necessary to remove the battery so you can properly access the wiring harness, that's all. However, there are a few F-150's that have a pair of solenoids mounted on the firewall just above the wiring harness, and on those F-150's you also have to remove the battery & tray to access the wiring harness easily.
To get an idea of where your computer actually is, as nomo mentioned, it is just above the passenger's kick panel, you do not have to remove that panel to access the computer. To get an idea of it's exact vertical placement, look under the hood, right behind the battery, for the wiring harness that has the single 10mm bolt head dead-center. This is where the harness connects to the very front of the computer, so that will give you an idea of exactly where the computer is inside the cabin. The computer is a 6" X 9" galvanized aluminum box in appearance.
And of course feel free to give us a call if you want to go over this in more detail, etc.
