New Chip Installed
Dear Mike,
I received my new superchip on Wednesday and I installed it in my truck on Thursday. When I spoke with you on the phone. You were very informative and I appreciate all your advice. I own a 1997 F-150 and the instillation was pretty straight forward but one thing that made the installation much easier is when I remove the battery and it's case. This made the access to the wireing harness a breeze. The chip has given me what I was looking for and more than I expected. Thank much for your help and advice.

Hi roaks2764,
Very nice post, thank you!
Glad to see you're up and running, and enjoying your Superchip.
There are a few of these F-150's that have a certain option combination, and I don't remember exactly what that is at the moment, but with this particular combination, there is a pair of solenoids mounted on the firewall just above thw wiring harness, and they block your access to the 10mm bolt. The funny thing is, I have not personally had to remove the battery on any F-150 yet, but that's just pure luck I think, as I have not had one with that option combination come here.
So it's not many, but there are indeed some F-150's that have those solenoids mounted right in the way, in which case, removing the battery & tray makes access much easier, you're absolutely right.
Have fun this holiday weekend, and good luck with your truck!
