ready to be chipped
I ordered my Superchip yesterday and am looking very forward to its arrival, I just hope the installation isn't too difficult for me. I want to thank everyone that posts on this site about the superchip, due to everyone that has been impressed and very happy with it, is one reason I went for it. I have a couple of questions for anyone, while I might have your attention. Does the Superchip help with the delay in timing of pedal down to acceleration? If that doesn't make any sense, I apologize. Also I know this is off the subject, but does anyone have a white face gauge plate, and if so would you get one again?
thanks
thanks
powerandsound,
Yes, the Superchip does away with that annoying delay in downshifting when you mash the pedal. You won't be disappointed.

I forgot to mention...have you checked out this How-to link by Chris Duke? It is extremely detailed on how to install the superchip.

Hi powerandsSound,
Well, I'm not sure exaclty what you mean by "delay in timing of pedal down to acceleration".
2000rebcab54 did make an excellent observation, when he pointed out that the annoying delay in downshifting is corrected with the Superchip. What that means is, if you're out driving and you want to say, pull out and pass somebody, in the factory program there is a delay built in, and a reduction of power during and just after the downshift. The Superchip removes all that garbage, and allows the vehicle to downshift and have full power immediately.
It does also give improved throttle response overall, so it should help what you're noticing, I'm guessing.
If you could give an example of exactly what you mean, under what circumstances do you feel this delay in power, then perhaps I could give you a more direct answer.
With regards to the white face gauges, you can pick them up, I think, right here on F150 Online, in the online store. Just click the link that says "Online Store" in the upper left part of your screen here, and that will take you right to the store, and then you can look around at all the goodies they have there.
Good luck!

Howdy P & S,
I think your talking about "throttle response" Like when your driving on the E-Way crusin at 70 mph converter locked and you begin to tip into the throttle slightly to accelerate and the vehicle doesn't seem to be picking up any speed and then..... WhamO Holy Chrysler DowNSHiFT!....
With the chip installed you will notice that you now have "Throttle response" as you tip into the throttle the vehicle will accelerate, if you continue "Tipping in" you will get a part throttle downshift.
With the chip installed the throttle is CRiSP.

I think all of you are right in what I'm experiencing and trying to explain, somewhat unsuccessfully. I'll try to give an example, but I think you all answered it, in the fact that you said your vehicle responds faster and does away with the delay as 2000regcab54 said. Which I think is what I'm experiencing. I know if the superchip does correct that problem it would be worth it and the HP increase and torque increase would be added bonuses. Thanks for all your help.
