Is this possible?
Installed my Superchip, and my wife says the truck is quieter? Is this possible?

One of the first things I noticed after installing the Superchip is that the engine didn't sound the same. I figure that's a function of the timing advance. But I sure wouldn't call it quieter - the word I used was raspy.

Dear William,
I can't say that I've experienced a drop in decible level of sound from the engine, but what a number of people have commented on is a smoother idle, perhaps she perceives this as less noise, or perhaps in this case there is just a bit less noise at idle as a result of a smoother idle?
The power tuning starts at about 1000-1200 rpm, but the changes to the fuel curves to compensate for premium gasoline do tend to smooth out the idle quality a bit.
Once you give it some real throttle, most people comment that the "tone" of the engine changes a bit, and sounds more aggressive as a result of the Superchip tuning changes, which is normal.
Have fun,
