Question New Flip Chip Installed

Mike,

I Installed my new Filp Chip Saturday and I have a question I I think its working, But my understanding was it was supposed t change th shift points to 5500 RPM? and raise the speed limiter. Its shifting at about 4800. It has changes the way it shifts a little so I believe its working. I did disconnect the battery when I installed it, does it still take a few hundered miles for it to "learn". And I do not feel a difference in the two modes.

any help would be appreicated.

Hi Mike,

First, you have far too few miles on it to make any decisions about it's effectiveness in both positions. You haven't had time to run the Position 1 program on 87 octane regular, and not enough time to run the performance program in Position 2 on 92 or higher octane premium only, for openers.

Best thing to do is just give me a call, and I'll be happy to go over all of this with you in greater detail, so you'll know what to expect in both positions.

It takes some time for the computer to adapt to it's new programming, and you have to shut the engine off to switch programs. To actually eliminate accumulated memory, you should also disconnect the battery again when you switch to clear that memory, otherwise it takes 2-3 days of driving to really feel the differences between the two programs. It doesn't work like an on/off switch, in other words.

Just give me a call, and let's go over all of this in detail, ok?
