Tuners in Orlando area

I just finished a Holley Thunder installation on my 2001 Supercrew with some 42 lb. injectors, an 80 mm MAF, a new in tank fuel pump (Holley) and also an auxiliary inline pump. The Diablo sport chip that came with the upgrade package obviously isn't cutting it, and it's been so long since I bought the kit that they won't support it anymore because they have no proof it hasn't been on the whole time. The truck is running very rough and the A/F gauge claims it is very rich (pegged the majority of the time). It just overall is running very badly. Are there any reputable tuners (preferably with dyno) in the Orlando, FL area, or is there any other suggestion out there for fixing this fairly quickly? This is my daily driver and it is very disturbing being without it or worse yet, trying to drive it around.

Thanks ahead of time.

Hello dufunnel,

As always, we can take care of that for you - just give us a call at our number listed below & we can give you a number of good options that will get this taken care of *correctly*.

In most cases, you don't even have to go to a dyno for us to do the baseline tuning - we can usually dial it in pretty close without that - close enough so you can take it to any local dyno to check our baseline tuning, & we can email you any tuning changes needed right there, while you're on the dyno, and dial it in spot-on.

We can also give you some other options as well, as we have done R&D work in Orlando over the years - just give us a call to go over all the details, etc., & then give it some thought, if you like.

The original tuning R&D on the Holley Thunder kit was actually done years ago by Superchips - it's a bit of a pricey kit, but rightfully so - it's generally good quality and thankfully doesn't use an FMU, but instead uses larger fuel injectors so the rail pressure is kept stock levels. Thus you don't have the inherent dangers fraught with FMU's, nor the driveability issues due to "soggy" A/F's when getting into the throttle. It's a very nice positive displacement setup that delivers big instant torque gains, excellent flat-out HP gains, and better driveability than any centrifugal unit could ever hope to. For what it's worth, you made a good decision going with that Holley kit, and that vehicle can be made to have excellent driveability no detonation, A/F's where they should be, etc. with proper 4-bank tuning - but you already know all of that.

Best of luck whatever you decide,

Actually the Holley Thunder kit does come with a fuel regulator, and no injectors, however, I also purchased an upgrade kit that has 38 lb. injectors and an aux. inline fuel pump over Holley's in tank pump they include with the original kit. So I have quite an interesting setup that I will have to discuss with you. I called today and left a message as the person I talked to originally told me it was complicated enough that I should talk to you directly. I hope to hear from you tomorrow as I've been reading up on the 9100, and it sounds like this is what I need, as I would like having a daily driver program, one for the track, and one for doing any towing, which I will do once in awhile. Thanks.

Hi du (Andy),

Ahh, so they've apparently made a change since the original release some years ago, back when they first came out. They called Superchips in for the tuning R&D on that, as most blower manufacturers do.

Nice talking to you again today, Andy - between that raised boost pulley and getting a proper tune done on it, that will motivate that big King Ranch truck very nicely, so you can really start enjoying the positive displacement supercharger.

Congratulations on your anniversary, by the way - have a good trip, & talk to you soon!
