I want to know if you guys think a performance chip for my 1993 Ford F150 300 inline six would give me more power and torque and if so what kind out there for the money is the best?

Hey kampe,
The Superchip is what you're looking for.... hands down! You'll notice an increase in your hp. as well as your torque. It's also been known to get you better gas mileage.
With my undrestanding.... it's the only chip that gives you better performance on the highway as well as in city/town driving.... felt it myself on my truck!
I've installed the Superchip in my truck and love it! I'm just waiting to fill up again, so I can calculate my gas mileage. I know it's better already, because I haven't had to fill up after going to work on a full tank of gas this week.
I'm sure Mike Troyer will be here soon to be more thorough and really help you. He's great, you can trust him! Helped me out immenseley.... very personnable and hands on.... takes pride in his work!

Yes, there is a Superchip available for those "Big 6's", and it's a topic that comes up again and again here, meaning, go-fast parts for those engines. It's a great motor, that was made to be a lower-rpm torque producing monster, and it does an excellent job at that! There are a good number of other people here who have those engines, so don't feel alone by any means, this is an excellent place to get info on what to do to those 4.9's to wake them up a bit.
The Superchip will add 14-15 horsepower, and 29-31 lbs./ft. of torque to your 4.9 300 cu. in. 6-cyl.
As Lariat Ryder mentioned in his post, it's the only chip for that vehicle that adds power *all* the time, and not just at WOT (wide-open throttle). So in addition to more power, you also have improved overall driveability. From 1000 rpm on up, you will have more power available regardless of throttle position.
