Question computer shift from 1st to 2nd

I just installed my chip a few days ago and notice the 1st to 2nd shifts are much firmer that before. They are real firm but not as quick as from 2nd to 3rd. There seems to be a "little bump" when shifting from 1st to 2nd. There is no slip but the shift just doesn't feel the same as the other shifts. These shifts are at wide open throttle. When driving at a normal acceleration all shifts feel the same. Is this normal-----love that chip

That's normal, and it's due to how the 2-3 shifts are set up mechanically from the factory. Just about any automatic transmission uses considerably more line pressure and even more clutch material & applied band pressure on the 2-3 shift. The transmission needs to shift harder and quicker on the 2-3 shift due to the vehicle load & speed to limit slippage. If you put the vehicle up on a lift and ran it thru the gears, you would see that the vehicle hardly moves on the 1-2 upshift, but it will rock hard on the rack on the 2-3 upshift, and the transmissions are configured to do this mechnically. This is my first guess as to what you're feeling, as this is factual with regards to automatics being set up to shift 2-3 quicker. You might want to give me a call to discuss exactly what you're feeling in detail if you like. There are transitional spark retards that are removed on the 1-2 upshift that are not the same on the 2-3, so without being there to feel & experience it, it's hard to tell for sure.
