how fast?
This is probably going to sound pretty strange to most of you but here goes. I want my truck to run at least a 14.50 et. My local track has a paying class but the cut-off is 14.99. I am a very experienced drag racer but at this time without a race car. My question is : Will this truck(see sig) run the number? What else do i do? No nitrous or superchargers please! Any input is helpful. Thanks and sorry for the long text. The track doesnt open until mid March, that is why I am asking.

Sorry, but without a Supercharger and/or Nitrous, it will never run that quick.

Try and research for old posts by HotRod6. I think he has done gears, undrive pulleys, chip, exhaust and a few other things and has gotten down to 16.26 or so (if my memory is right). That's a huge improvement over stock, and you would need to do that much again to get into the 14's. I don't think its possible, unless you reduced the truck's weight by about 1000 pounds!
i think i'm right at 16 flat ,to get what you want you'll need nitrous &supercharger, and that might not even do it..

Hey guys,
Well right now I am running 14.2s @ 103.8. I will probably be in the low to mid 13's when i get my posi traction and wider aftermarket tires. Because as of right now all I do is spin tires. Hope this helps.

Dear AdamK97,
One thing to keep in mind is that there is about 1.5 seconds of difference in 1/4 mile ET's in the stock V-6 F-150, depending on it's configuration, as it affects weight quite a bit. Some of them are as slow as the 18's, and some of the are as quick as 16's.
Most tend to be in the 17's stock. Getting that vehicle to run 14.50's is possible, but not without either supercharging or a very stiff shot of nitrous, the blower is preferable to nitrous in my humble opinion.
You might want to give me a call to discuss this, and see just what is really possible for your truck, before you make any of your decisions. We may find that you can do something reasonable that will fit your needs, or, we may find that what you really want to do just isn't viable for this vehicle. 14.50's will not be viable and still maintian full reliability for towing and as a work truck, it's just too heavy, as some have mentioned. But that doesn't mean you cannot make it a very nice and peppy V-6, with plenty of enjoyment.
Thosae late-model Windstars with the 200 hp V-6 aren't bad performers, for the type of vehicle, and you can have fun with them.
Good luck,
