Exclamation Starting discussion threads in the appropriate areas..

Hi All,

I would like respectfully request that all product specific inquiries made directly to vendors be posted in the "Ask A Vendor" section of the message boards.

This will allow for centralization and reduce duplication of topics that keep getting rehashed over and over again in this forum.

Additionally, please do not post messages for Superchips (or any other products for that matter) for sale in these forums. There is an area of the site for that purpose. https://www.f150online.com/classifieds/index.html

Thanks!

Steve

Yeah, I second that!!! I didn't know what I'd do if I saw one more "How do I get a chip?" topic started by someone who obviuously didn't read the TONS of available info on that. I some how managed to get a chip without having to start a whole topic dedicated to Andthensometoo's obtaining a chip. We have some threads here that are on-going such as Victories and Defeats and these often get pushed to page 2 where they become harder to find. Every morning I come here to look for new "kills"

Lund Fastback, Lighted visor, Runninng Boards, Crome Taillight covers, Polished Steel Fenderwell Moldings, Smoked Bug and Rain guards, Shelf-it, Carpet dash cover, "Andthensometoo" in silver Letters 3" tall on tail gate. Red Wings license plate in front, Red Wings license plate frame in back, Little Detroit Viper hanging from mirror, Oh yeah, and one "Blacked-out" grill.
Gonna get my Bed rails back on, Finally!
Couldn't find the right Polished steel design, so once I modify the powercoated ones I just bought, I will paint them.

Q: who wants my "Pocket Mount" chrome ones? Price:cost of shipping, or gas and maybe lunch if you live in S/E MI.

So, why do we get duplicate topics? Because new members don't know to use the search first before starting a topic.

I think we need big, bold text added to the home page for Message Board that says: "Search first before posting a new topic to avoid duplication. Post under proper topic." Can that be done?

Meanwhile, don't leave us 54regcab!

I agree with the above..however..if there are too many 'rules' then this site will not be interesting to the new members. That is what makes this site great..helping others and the new members.

I am not overly concerned about a new member posting a duplicate topic that some of us talked about 3 months ago.

I agree with that Dustoff - as I have stated many times before, I do not want the vendors to go away, they certainly add value and perspective. However, when that value results in revenue for them, I want those discussions relegated to the Vendor forums. I can point out a couple of vendors here that have probably made more money from their presence on this site than I have, and they have never once inquired about advertising or sharing the wealth - is that fair? From my perspective, no...

I actually like Duplicates myself. I have learned SOOO many things on this website from asking questions, etc. that I can now help others with new questions.

Steve--

I am all for you getting a cut from the vendors..after all..it IS YOUR web site and they certainly are making money.

I think this is by far one of the best web sites on the web..not just for trucks. Very informative and helpful!
