Welcome mtbikr to the site...
Your computer should be under the dash on the pass side mounted to the right side wall.
Its gray/black in color. Its a little box about the size of a small bible.

Dear mtbikr,

The computer in all 1997 & later F-150's (including the Lightning) is located on the passenger side of the vehicle, just over the passenger kick panel. It is mounted so that most of it is in the cabin, but the first inch or two protrudes thru the firewall and into the engine compartment, so it can connect to it's wiring harness.

To find your computer code, simply open the passenger door and look in between the door hinges, and there will be a sticker with 3 letters and a number on it, and that is your computer code.

To remove the computer from your vehicle, go under the hood and look right behind the battery. You will see the front of the wiring harness "hub", which will have a single 10mm bolt dead-center. Loosen (do not remove!) this 10mm bolt until you can disconnect the wiring harness from the front of the computer. Then go into the cabin, and you will see the computer above the passenger kick panel, and it's held to it's bracket by a black plastic slide-off clip. Simply remove this clip, and this will allow you to pull the computer away and out of the vehicle.

If you need any help, please feel free to give us a call, our number is below.

mtbikr,
I did a couple of things at the same time.(chip and airbox) I will not know until summer when I revert back to the full box.

I usually post pretty regularly.
