Gee, I might be interested but unfortunately I am having trouble finding my code. If I am not mistaken it is under the drivers side kick panel area. I have located a grey box with two significant wiring prongs going into it that fits the description but there is no visible sticker on it with any kind of bar code and numbers on it. As you can see it matches very well in model and year. Could the sticker be on the side against the firewall and therefor not visible? Mike?

Cphillip,
Let me try to help.
Here's the first location to look, the door jamb. 2nd On the wire harness of your computer box is a white sticker measuring about 1x4" with a bar code on it.
BIG BOLD letter and numbers those are the numbers we need.
The numbers should be on there own, usually ranging from 2-4 digits. See the below examples,

A0Z1 BOY2 DDX2 DOE0 DZA1 FIG1 FIG2 GUM0 HUG2
etc.....

Also, pull the computer. Sometimes the sticker is also on the cover for the serial port(where the superchip attached). The cover is metal or plastic and covers the port shown below.

Yes, that might help. However the bigger of the two wireing harness' going into mine has a sticker with the numbers you describe but no bar code. I did not notice a door sticker on the drivers side but I will look again tonight. I saw one on the passengers side? No dice huh? I thought the sticker had to be on the box itself? thanks so much for your help so far. I might be wrong about the box I am looking at being the computer? The one I see is grey plastic but fits the size and general description. I will look in my manuals and see what gives.

Yes the last picture really helps and does not look like what I was looking at. Your picture seems to be a metalalic box? I will be crawling back under the front seat again!

No, just the drivers side. maybe I am wrong? I got that computer location from the Superchip site. Mine is an early build date 97 (5/96) Is it (computer) located on the side or just near it? I definately saw a sticker on the door panel on the passenges side as you described but discounted it as being the one when I saw the Superchip info taht placed it on the drivers side. maybe that was wrong for mine? You don't have to remove the kick panel to get to the computer do you?

My computer was on the passenger side above kick panel. Sticker was also on passenger side door sill near where door connects to the body. Let me know what you find out. My email is Kcwiemo@aol.com.

They've put the computers everywhere.

Aluminum with a steel plate.. Probably a plastic sheath around it. 7" X 9" X 2" thick

Update. Found mine on the passengers side. Someone had made some attempt to remove the sticker. Only the last two digits and a little of the bar code still remained. When I looked at the computer itself a plastic clip, which seems to serve no other purpose, obscured the numbers completely but when I removed it, there they were! The last two digits matched the ones on what remained on the door panel sticker so I am sure now of it. Unfortunately for me they are IMP4. Darn the luck but thanks again for your help. I will know them now and can keep a watch for a deal.

All 1997 & later model year F-150's, including the Lightnings (which are 1998 short-cab F-150's), have their computer over on the passenger side, just above the passenger kick panel. The first inch or two of the front of the computer protrudes thru the firewall and into the engine compartment, so it can connect to it's wiring harness. The bulk of the computer is in the cabin, above the passenger kick panel, and it comes out thru the cabin, not from under the hood. On the '97 & later F-150, the computer code sticker will be in the PASSENGER door frame, not the driver's door frame. It will be near the door hinges, in the front of the door frame, 3 letters and a number.

For Super Duty trucks 1997 & later, this is just the opposite! Super Duty trucks ('97 & later F-250 Super Duty and all F-350's '97 & later are the Super Duty trucks.) have their computers on the driver's side, easy to get to near the steering column, and the code sticker for the Super Duty trucks is also on the driver's side, in the same place, near the door hinges, in the front of the door frame.

It is the 1996 & earlier model-year F-series trucks that have their computers in the drivers kick panel, behind the aluminum mounting panel for the emergency brake pedal.

The '97 & later F-150 computers are very easy to get to for removal and replacement, takes maybe 5 minutes to pull it out.

If anyone has any questions about this or any other aspect regarding Superchips, please feel free to contact us. EMail address & phone number are below for your convenience.

FYI, our bests to all,

The exhaust is the stock one that exits in front of the right wheel.I pulled it off to put the flowmaster on. It includes all piping and muffler from where the two exhausts combine after all cats (25000 miles when replaced). I still have not sold the Superchips NAB4 code. I think it might be a unique code. Anyone heard of that code before? It is so hard to delay my lightning mods until I sell off this stuff. Please pass the word on the chip also. Take care...
