Mike: In one of the many magazines that float through here that Comp Cams was in development on cams for the modular V8's. In the good old days we changed cams and also advanced the ignition for more power.

Maybe you could suggest to the Superchips powers that be to contact Competition Cams to look into a deal with a Superchips and cams package? The article did not say if the cams were being designed for the Mustang or the trucks.

Superchips and Competition Cams have *already* been talking to each other, for years now. Superchips also works with numerous other camshaft makers as well, and has for years. As far as making a "package" deal, it all depends on the actual cam specs, as to whether or not a custom program is required. Most cams that are truly designed for computer-controlled engines do not need a custom program, so "packages" are not appropriate in many cases, you see. Most of them don't change overlap & lobe centerline very much, it's primarily more lift, as they have to keep the emissions clean to pass muster for sale in computer controlled vehicles legal for street use. This is just one of many reasons why larger ratio rocker arms are so popular in many engines that they can be used in, as they increase lift without really detrimentally affecting idle quality, etc.

But anyone who changes cams and needs the appropriate programming changes, this can easily be done, just give us a shout.
