Another 1715 Success
OK, I stand corrected, it did not make a nice improvement.
It made a huge!!!!!!!! improvement.
I just took it for a real ride and it feels like a different truck.
Power though out the entire powerband from start to screaming finish. The truck feels like it lost 1,000 lbs of weight.
Why didnt ford do this to begin with??????
All I can say is Thanks Mike! Cant wait till the Airforce one gets here.

And it's only been a day! Give it week and then tell your truck you want it to burn the tires off with a few standing starts up to the 1-2 shift. Or....if you can get away with 80+mph, let it get into 3rd
My camper shell is off for a paint job this week and just tonight I told my wife to floor it at the light. Hehehe. She said "Wow.... I've never fishtailed before!
Life is good!

Hi castacwa,
Thanks for your post!
That's not necessary any more, and hasn't been for some time now - these days, the AF1's bracket has a vertical slot in it for that specific height adjustment.
Now back when they first came out, for some months it was just a normal bolt hole for attachment without any adjustment - and like you, we found that on some trucks, sometimes a slight bend *was* needed to avoid having the top of the end of the air filter element coming into slight contact with the sound insulation on the underside of the hood on some F-150's. In fact, back when we first got our 2001 F-150 (in June of 2001, just before the 2002's came out), it was that way, like you're talking about.
That was taken care of long ago - Air Force One changed that from a bolt hole to a slot to allow for that specific height adjustment, and it works very well & looks neat, just like it should. We've installed countless AF1's since that change, and none have needed to have any bends in that bracket (or anywhere else) ever since.
I'm wondering, perhaps you got your AF1 a while ago? If so, you can get in touch with AF1 directly, and they will supply you with a replacement bracket that has the slot for that height adjustment.
Thanks for your post!
