Neal...
Great to read your "signature"... man, your right it is getting longer than your post. In another message board I explained about the lowering I just put in. It looks, sounds, and runs awesome. Now, feel me in on what the difference in 3.55 vs. 4.10 gears will do. I'm looking at hp all the time. It's been a mid-life crisis since I got this truck and its driving my wife mad, I love it! Attended a car show today and had alot of inquiries. Fun!

HI!... CABLEGUY the 4.10's will help the truck get up from a dead stop (holeshot) a lot better than the 3.55's, if you can keep the tires from turning into goo. Your 0-60 times and your 60ft times will drop considerbly, and your 1/4 mile e.t's will drop also. Also when you hit it on a roll it will feel like you just gained 50hp but it's just a illusion because you hav'nt gained any hp at all. The rpm's will climb a lot faster, your shifts will feel a little harder. The only drawback to the 4.10's is you will lose about 10-12 mph off your top speed, but if you have the SUPERCHIP who cares! You also got to remember that these trucks are not light and they need every bit of help they can get. Anyway who races for top speed, most people race from light to light or 1/4 mile.

Cable Guy, low 15's is very good! Race a Dakota R/t and you'll give him a run for his money. And yes, I am pretty sure everyone here knows that the new 5.4 is faster than the old 5.4. actually, it has to be from the big hp jump: 235hp to 260hp and 330lb-ft torque to 345 !

First close call in weeks! I ran accros a Durango in North Phoenix late this evening and punched it briefly at a light. Next thing I know (right after letting off) he's flying by me. We were side by side at another light several blocks later. It seemed obvious we were both trying to "snag" a light. I have to admit my heart was pounding for the first few seconds because he was right with me till about 35-40 MPH. After that I pulled away pretty quick. At about 30-35 MPH the boost from the Wynjammer really turns up. This was the higher output Dodge (don't know what they call it..RT?) and I admit it's about the quickest stock (far as I know)truck I've run up against. Can't wait to get my chip running tomorrow so I'll never have come that close again. Still it was a victory and a major RUSH!

Oh what a feeling!! Last Friday while showing some family the town, I ran across a kid in a Cadilac STS. He saw me pull away from him at a light, not racing, and got a little irritated. At the next light, he rolled down his window and said, "You want to play?" I said, "always". We took off, he had me until I hit second gear. Ran in second up to about 50mph, and totally lost him when I hit third! Ended up at the next light and he was about 2 car lengths behind me. He pulled up beside me again and said that he missed the green. I told him no problem, pay attention and you'll still see my dented tailgate!! So we went at it again, this time a shorter stretch. At the next light his front bumper was about even with my back before I started braking. He then went into the turn lane, embarrassed. I saw him looking my truck up and down trying to figure out what the secret is! I love this truck!!
One draw back......when I pulled into my driveway 5 minutes later, I obviously had a radiator leak. Turns out I had shifted so hard, did someone say clutch?, that my fan rubbed my radiator and put a small leak in it. Damn, that radiator money could have gotten me a Superchip!!! @#%$^!!!
Was worth it though!

HI!... FAST46TRITON I'm going to purchase my 4.10's from BEAR'S PERFORMANCE here in WINDSOR. They are made by PRECSION GEAR and cost about $400.00(CAN). BEAR'S told me that for the STERLING 9.75 rearend their is only the 4.10 and 3.55 gear ratios offered, so it's one or the other. I am getting mine installed at the same FORD dealer that I bought my truck from. They have a mechanic that only does rearends and gear changes.(don't get perverted on me now guys). They only want $350.00(CAN) to install them and they will warranty the work as well.

Thanks, for feeling me in on that Neal. Interesting, but how does the transmission hold up? any problems there? Great chat room tonight, ya gotta visit. how about a do it yourself job, any recommendation towards that if you can turn a wrench good? I'll have my pictures downloaded tomorrow and ready to show off if anyone is interested

Gman,

I am not going to argue with you. I read the Truck Trends magazine, I know what I read/saw. Ask anyone who got the magazine, and they will tell you. I'm not going to be a smart @$$ or anything, just letting you know that I saw the magazine, people saw the magazine, and we all know what we read.

No problem ,but I wouldn't count on magazines for anything more than entertainment. Even when you get past the typos some of the info. is a little "funny"; especially when it comes to numbers. Their number is alittle too high for a stocker.

Hey guys,
Just had a defeat to tell you all about. Last saturday night, my wife and I were going out with my sister and her friend. My car was in the shop, and I can't stand not to drive anywhere I go,so we all piled into my reg. cab flairside. We were going downtown, and on the way I ran into a late model chevy. His was just like mine only red, reg. cab sportside, and I could hear him shifting so I new he had a manual tranny, also just like mine. This excited me because I don't usually run into anything but autos. Anyways, even though I was loaded with three cute girls in my small cab, I decided to mess with him a little (my wife hates when I do this). It took me a while to get next to him because the traffic, but when I finally did the girls were all yelling at me to get him. he was reving and so was I, the light went green, and we were off. he had me off the line, but 1st was swallowing him up fast. Powershift to second and reeeevvvvvv, off poped my shifter handle. I know I would have had him easily, and that just ate me up all the more. Took me a second to slide on my **** and caught up to him just in time to see him laughing and turn onto a side street. needless to say, this week I'll be looking for a new **** for my shifter, one that has a set screw. Did I feel like a dumbass or what? night yall

NEAL, you have the right idea, when it comes to a gear change, you really need to check into the shop/mechanic doing it,a sloppy job and "your rear" is going to be scattered all over the street.
