Not trying to discourage anyone's sales here, but can a Superchip be reprogrammed for a different computer code for a different vehicle as long as it's the same original purchaser requesting a "reflash" of the chip?
I've read, either from Mike or someone here, that if Ford was to ever reprogram my computer, thereby assigning it a different code, Superchips can reflash my chip for free (except for shipping and handling, of course) for as long as I own the chip.
Does the same apply if one buys a newer Ford product that can accept the same chip (albeit with a different computer code)?
BTW, those are great prices y'all are asking for those chips. Hope you get a buyer, I'm very happy with my chip.

Future Mods:
a)Limited slip
b)Running Boards

WOW, those *are* great prices, and, they are both very popular codes, so they should go quick! Somebody can pick up on some great deals there, they won't last long, I'll bet!
I think one of those guys also had some other items, like a Borla exhaust and something for the intake, I forget what it was. With pricing like they have put on those used Superchips, the other parts should go quick too! Anyone would be well advised to check out those bargains.
Some Superchip modules can be reflashed to different codes for a different vehicle, but not all, to answer Crazy C's question. It's not a product that can be taken from one vehicle to the next when you trade in.
If your computer is reflashed to a different code by the dealer, Superchips will do whatever is necessary to make sure that either your existing Superchip or a free replacement will be given to work with the new code. Superchips won't let someone lose their investment just because they had to have their computer reflashed by the dealer for whatever reason.
Our bests to all,

I recently bought a used Superchip after reading about it on this messageboard. Mine was computer code FOU1 and the price was the same $150.00. I have absolutely no regrets about having made the purchase.
If you're even thinking about buying a chip and can use one of these computer codes - jump on it.

You'll need to open up your passenger door and look at the front inside frame for a label. That label (code) should have a combination of 4 letters/number. If yours is YSL2, then this is the one that fits your computer.
Also, I have a brand new Borla Cat-back exhaust system that will fit your truck. I had a 97 f150 sc 4.6L and traded it in, but not before removing all of the mods. The borla system had a small crack and they sent me a brand new one. I paid a little over $350 for it and would take a little over $200 for it. It's an easy 30 minute install.
In addition I have a K&N filter that will fit the 4.6L as well as the 96-98 Cobra. I'll let that go for $20 plus shipping.
Thanks for your interest!

i have a 97 f150 4.6l, the code looks kinda worn and could read TSL2 or TZL2. Is there any other way to tell and does anyone if the different codes means anything significant

The computer code is also printed on a label that stuck to the service plug on the computer itself. Remove the passenger-side kick panel and take a look up there. With a flashlight you should be able to read it.
You've gotta match up the codes or you don't start.

Wow, what a hot thread! Anytime someone is offering bargains like these, they don't last long, and that's great to see!
By the way, I don't think I have *ever* seen a price that low for a Borla exhaust system for these trucks, either new or used. Someone is going to get a great deal on that too. Most of the prices I've seen for Borla's for the late-model F-150's is over $500 or so.
Good luck to everyone, these bargains will *not* last, so act quick if you want to take advantage.
Tom C, nice post for anyone considering buying one of these used Superchips!

Dear Buckettruck,
If yours is a Califonia vehicle, then your code is probably TBL2. You can check this in a couple of places...first, look under the hood right behind the battery at the wiring harness "hub", (the first inch or so of the computer protrudes thru the fireall and into the engine compartment, and that is right behind the battery) and there is usually a sticker there with a bar code and the computer code is above the bar code in bold capitals, so it stands out. Also, like Tom C said, you can check the back of the computer. Remove the passenger kick panel, and you will see the computer just above the panel. It will be held to it's bracket by a black (usually it's black) clip that just slides off the computer. Pull that clip off, and another code sticker will be underneath.
I hope that helps you confirm your code,
