Question No Speed Limiter?

I have recently had the chance to safely push my truck to the limit and try to hit the speed limiter. But I am unsure if my truck is governed. The speedo only goes to 100, and I can hit that spedd pretty easily and even after I bury the needle I can still feel the truck pulling. After a while I feel the tranny shift and then I am able to cruise comfortably with hardly any engine noise. I've read that the limiter kicks in violently but I haven't been able to feel a thing. I drove at full throttle for over 3 miles so I know I allowed enough time to hit the limiter, but I felt nothing.
Are all the 99's governed at the top end?

Yes, every single 99 has a top speed limiter. In fact, so does every single computer controlled vehicle made, with the exception of a few performance vehicles, such as the Lightning, the Cobra, the Corvette, and similar vehicles.

The late-model (97 & up) F-150 has a top speed limiter set anywhere from 98 to 108 mph, to match the speed rating of your wheel & tire combo from the factory. Sounds to me like you probably have on that is at the higher end of that scale, and maybe as high as 108 mph. Good for you! Most of them will indicate about 100, and that's it. You've got a few more mph, and most stock trucks run out of horsepower well before approaching 110 mph, so you just haven't gone fast enough to hit your limiter yet, that's all. Lucky you!

Be safe, & enjoy,

Cool

Mine is the same I've had the needle pegged for well over a mile and still no shutdown. Had an Aerostar that was limited to 98 and I know what that felt like. Tranny went to neutral and engine went to idle. LOVE THIS TRUCK
