My first loss!
Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later. Good news is I finally saw my first Lightning. It was red and with the exception of sitting next to it at a couple of lights, I mostly only saw the tail end of it! WOW what a truck! Actually had two very nice but short conversations with the owner who obviously loves his truck yet still managed to be complimentary of mine. That was nice of him since he spanked me three times in a row.
I did finally get a "real" ET at a track in Tucson last weekend. 15.2 was my best time. I was a little disappointed but had my truck officially weighed at 6047 LBS (me in it and 1/2 a tank of fuel). People I talked to there said for my weight I should be happy. I still hope to get below 15 some day and maybe if I run at outside temps well below 100 I likely will. I didn't, obviously, build up this truck for racing but It's hard to shake loose the highschool drag racer in me!
See ya at the next "light"....

Wynjammer,
IMHO, You are the King of all aftermarket add on's. So what if you don't win all the races, at that weight you need 700 HP to be really quick. Just remember, you can go as fast as you want, its only a question of money.
I'm looking to you, to be the first blown nitro methane running 4x4 into the 11's.
Take care, enjoyed talking with you, and good speed!

I'd agree! Wynjammer certainly has nothing to be ashamed about, a 15.2 ET at over 3 tons, with the aerodynamic profile of a brick, is nothing short of amazing to me!
The new Lightnings weight about 4900 dressed, so you're giving up a lot of weight there, Wynjammer, to the Lightning. Take 1000+ lbs. off,and you'll be *well* into the 14's, and maybe even better.
Enjoy your truck!

Well, from one sumo to another, welcome to the 3ton club, i'm kind of surprised your that light with a xcab 4x4, i'm at 5800 no driver no gas, with my 3/4 dodge reg cab 4x2. i'm not implying that you would lie about your weight, as most of us "big boys" do. forget the diet, it's exercise you need, the blue/yellow bottled kind, a 100 shot down the blower tube, is fairly safe and will shock the hell out of your lighter, smaller opponent
Think I'll pass on the nitrous BBQ but it's a fun thought! Don't get me wrong I am as happy a camper as you'll ever find. everyday I go to work or get ready to come home a smile hits me as I see that truck waiting for ME! It's the kind of ride I always wanted in younger days but could not afford. I am glad I'm still young enough to really enjoy and appreciate it...I DO!
As for the weight, the local land fill weighed me at 6040 several weeks back so I think the more recent weigh in at 6048 seems almost too close (I really expected the one at the dump to be off quite a bit).
Anyway I am pretty much done with the truck. Don't want to over do it and make it gaudy! I've actually spent more time and effort on internal electronics and may have to do some kind of detailed show and tell on that some time....
Thanks all.

Yes..Pretty much. I have done a lot of work on the ovehead console with LEDs that correspond to all my lights and systems as well as an array of about 8 small metal toggles running right down the middle of it allowing my to turn on/off everything from one control area. I also added a small push button that operates my garage door. It has a hidden electronically controlled dropdown that houses my laser/radar detector and mt G-Tech. I do have a couple of "extras" that I'd rather not mention on-line!
