Kapthowdy You were lucky she gave up drunk drivers are some of the most desparate people when they are threatened with going to jail. And they will do almost anything to get away.

Dear Kapthowdy,

I'm sorry to hear you were hit by that stupid drunk, but thank GOD you were able to catch her, and have her arrested. You may well have actually saved somebody's life, or lives!

I was hit by a drunk driver (female, 21, .26BAC, pot & cocaine in her bloodstream) who was going up Interstate 95 the WRONG WAY, with her lights off, at between 85-90 mph. She hit us and a van head-on, killing all involved, except for me. I am now disabled as a result. You can bet your bottom dollar I learned *several* lessons from that accident, not the least of which is not to drink and drive. As a younger man, I was a touring musician, and I have to confess that during those years I no doubt drove drunk many times. And there is NO excuse. The fact that I never got caught, and that I never hurt anyone, is pure luck, or maybe "the man upstairs" prevented it who knows? At any rate, the accident put an end to my career as a musician, and taught me lessons I badly needed to learn.

The point being, drunk drivers should *never* be tolerated. I personally believe that drunk driving should carry some mandatory jail time.

Congratulations on not being injured, and for stopping that drunk!

Kapthowdy: I'm glad you and wife are OK. Drunks are the pits and those w/out insurence are even worse. Before my F150 I had a toyota 4-Runner that I got nailed in on the interstate doing 60+. The guy that hit me, from behind, was going over 80. He too hit and left. I was able to get his tag and turn him in. When the cops got him he was still drunk and of course no insurence. He didn't even remember hitting me but his car was a mess! I sure hope your door doesn't cost to much, sometimes those insurence things are outragious. Do you have nerfs on your truck? If not, do you think they would have saved the door from some of the damage??

hey guys,
Thanks for all the great replies. you all have helped me to feel better about this stuff. Monday night I couldn't go to sleep, because I felt like I was being raped. I work very hard for my trucks and can hardly get into it now because everytime I do I have to look at that huge gack in the door. The cheapest quote I got to fix it was $1400. I'll need a new door and the sill needs to be pulled out. My insurance has a $500 dollor deductable so it wont be too bad. Of course that'll have to come from my supercharger fund I've been saving for about a Year now. I think nerf bars would have saved the door as she hit me very low, but mines a street truck and I don't like the way they look unless they're on a 4x4. One good thing is that my wife and dog are ok (my dog was in the back in her dog box), and soon so will me and my truck. Another cool thing is that I've always watched those greatest police chase shows on fox network and always wanted to be in a high speed pursuit, well I got that.
Everyone be really careful out there.

Dear Neal,

In the future, we ask that you please contact me/us privately for information regarding order status, etc. That kind of info doesn't belong here on the message boards, simply because it's purely commercial, and involves you and I, not everyone else here on the boards. This is also why I don't discuss discounted pricing, etc. here publicly, as again, that's pure commercial content, and not what the members come here for.

That being said, we just received your order today for your BOJ4 code, and it's shipping out today, so you should see it in about a week, going to Canada and thru customs.

Soon you'll be superchipped too!

All the best, and thanks for your support, Neal.

I'm not sure if you would count this as a victory, but it sure was funny! Out last night with my brother and a lowered Toyota pulls up next to me and starts racing his engine. Now, we all know that this wouldn't have been a race. My brother said, hey pal, we'll smoke ya! Fortunate for me, I looked in my review mirror and saw a lightbar on the car behind me. So I let him take off, he made it up to about 50 in a 35 before he noticed the flashing lights behind him! We drove by him, twice, just to laugh at him. He gave us the finger both times with the highway patrol man standing right there! Oh, what a beautiful night it was! We laughed all the way home!

Wink

this wasn't 'off the line' but today as i was driving to work on H169 which has a 65 mph limit. anyway the 2 lanes open up to 3 lanes and i jumped into the 3rd lane (far left) planning on flying past all the traffic since my exit was 1 1/4 mile away in the far right lane. i'm going about 75 mph and this Chevy show truck wanna be merges and he thinks he's going to out run me as i pass him. so i push it up to 85 mph, sorry to say but my exit was coming up so i had to cross the lanes to get to my destination. and of course there was a cop on a motorcycle at the bottom of the exit- glad he missed all of that. anyway, if i was to keep going and if that guy thinks he was going to get to pass me than he would be wrong.

Hey pony,

You ever get passed by a wild woman in a black Expedition? If so, that's probably my wife going to work from Owasso.

Be careful on 169. That's where we got rear-ended a couple of years ago. It's a dangerous place- especially at 244.

Thumbs up

Agreed. I have traveled both many times (on my way to OSU ). We live in Owasso. She works at 31st & Memorial. After being rear-ended, the 169 "drags" have tapered off. But, occassionally, you just have to remind the bowties who's boss. Be careful; and remember- speed doesn't kill, it's the sudden stop at the end!

Unhappy

Well I got to see a NASTY yesterday!! Me & Family went for a drive yesterday taking the back roads to SC. We were making our way back home and were heading for the Fort Fisher Ferry to shorten our trip back to Carolina Beach. Well we were on this winding twisting road, you know the kind with buzzards sitting in trees waiting for something to happen. (the middle of nowhere) when we come around this corner, a little country bridge and people everywhere!! When we passed over the bridge and looked in the water, there sat a black Z71, covered half way up the cab with swamp water. Bed of truck was almost under too. I guess the turning ability of the Z71 is'nt that great. Looks like they all got out and the cops were already there, so we didn't stop to help. Even though it wasn't a Ford, I sure felt sorry for the guy.

Cool

Running out hwy 316 in Ga yesterday and was behind a brand new Jeep Cher with 4.0L. He was flooring it at every light and I was staying behind him till we hit 60 and letting off. Total of 4 lights. I was very surprised at how quick this V6 was in that vehicle. I was on his butt but Im not sure if I could have passed him unless we ran longer. I actuall let off a few times cause I was afraid I was gonna hit him. But I was very surprised.
