Red face V6 Track times w/chip?

Went to the track for the 1st time this weekend and ran my 6 through.
Without chip : 18.39 @ 74mph
With chip : 17.42 @ 78mph.
WOW, what a difference!

Any other 6 cylinder experiences at the track?

Way to go Nascar, I like to see other guys going to the track, I attend whenever I can sneek away on the weekend w/out the wife finding out. Numbers look real good. It gets better over time too.

Hey Frank. It is an automatic. I believe my times will also drop with cooler weather. It was about 96 degrees with 78% humidity when I ran.

I ran a 12.7 quarter mile the other night. Then I woke up and my F150 changed from a Corvette back into a truck. :-(

BTW, AutoWeek did a poll and the three best American made vehicles in order are: Corvette, F150, then Mustang. I got two of the top three. Both from Ford. This poll fits right in with the Auto Insurance Institutes numbers of the most stollen vehicles with the F150 and Mustang being right near the top of that poll also. Needless to say I lock mine up.

Dear Nascar Bill,

WOW is right! Thanks for posting those 1/4 mile times, and the weather data, which is very important as we all know.

I'd say that Superchip is doing the job!

Congratulations!

Cool

Well, I would say that a secong in the 1/4 mile is a definite improvement. Feels alot stronger. I believe it would be the best 2 and change you would spend.

ponysix8,

I chipped my 4.2 about 3 months ago with under 900 miles. Now I have about 4500 miles and the performance seems to improve almost daily. More throttle response, better acceleration. I have no regrets about adding the chip. I'm now waiting for my K&N air filter, should be here by Wednesday.

Nascarbill,
Did your ET sheets list the 1/8 mile times for your truck? I haven't run mine in the quarter, but was wanting to compare.

Dear Pony68,

It's like Tina said, once you've driven a V-6 with the Superchip, you'll *never* want to be without it. (Shameless plug, sorry!)

Seriously, you can live without it, of course. If you do ever get a chance to drive a V-6 F-150 that's been Superchipped, you'll immediately notice the difference. It's the single best bang-for-the-buck power-gainer you can install on a computer controlled vehicle. So if you want more power, the Superchip is the best value, by far. (Another shameless plug )

I'm sure you'll always enjoy your truck, either way.

Cool

I've run a best of 10.65 @ almost 65. Most of the runs fall in the 10.7-10.9 range. Consistency is hard to achieve with this sloppy 5 speed. I'm wondering how much the superchip would take off of that.

Sorry, but the Superchip can't shift a manual! Only you can do that
