You're scaring me, Mike
You're scaring me, Mike
I just read Garzo's post (thread) about pulling the fuse on his 2003 F150. Your reply was that he should read his instruction sheet carefully and that SOME 03 F150's need a different procedure. Well, I have an 03 F150 and I've been pulling the fuse. I got my instruction sheet out and it says "important note for 2003 and later FORD EXPEDITIONS & LINCOLN NAVAGATORS. See section 11 on page 12." I checked section 11 and it also notes Expeditions and Navagators only. Nothing was said about the F150 so I disregarded it and followed the standard instructions. I've changed programs three times and nothing has blown up. Haven't had any problems but things like this make me nervous. I'll check the next time I lift my hood. Is this something you ran into after you started shipping tuners to 03 F150 owners? Mine (tuner) was one of the first shipped. I hope there isn't someone out there with my instruction sheet and the wrong 03 F150.

Mike sent me the post a little late cause I already put the unit of my truck for the same reason...it says Expedition and Navigator only. I have only been running the program for about a week and I need to pull it out because I am going to have some work done under warranty and i don't want to take any risks. So far I haven't had any problems and I have been driving the thing to death. I do only have it set on the 87 octane program bust last weekend me and couple buds were out climbing small hills in my turck and his chevy
( I Hate Chevys) but anyway so far so good and I looked at the picture in my manual and I don't have anything that matches what it looks like but I do have a little box wiht 3 wiring harnesses on the firewall but it doesn't look anything like the picture in my superchips manual...and if it makes any difference I just found out that my truck was made in Canada

garzo,
Still haven't looked under my hood. I've been running the 87 program since last Nov and it's running fine. This spring when I change to the 91 tow performance program I'll check. Mine was built in Canada also. Sometime when you can afford the couple extra bucks a tank change your truck to the 91 octane program. Either one. Tow or Max. I think you'll be suprised. There's a LOT of power in these 5.4's you really don't know about. Have fun.

Thanks man I am getting anxious waiting on gas prices to go down i was gonna switch it yesterday when I saw premium was down to 1.73 but I got up this morning and it was up to 2.07 so I changed my mind and got the unbelievably expensive 87 and kept that program. I was at Ford today gettin my moonroof worked on and my mechanic told me all the 03 F-150s have them and to just smack the box under the glove compartment and it will trip the fuel shut off switch and kill everything that way you dont have to screw with taking any wires or plugs out because there is a seal on those plugs and if they are broke the warranty is voided. To flip the switch for the fuel back on you have to take off that black plastic piece under teh glove box and there is a hole where you can put your finger in there and reset the switch.
