superchip need flashed??
superchip need flashed??
I own a 99 F250 V-10 auto with 4.30 gears. I bought a chip a friend had on his 00 F250 V-10 6sp w/ 4.30 gears. Will I need to reflash this chip, when can I send it to have it done, and what can I expect to pay?
Thanks Chris
Thanks Chris
Hi Chris,
Welcome to F-150 Online!
Yes, you will need to have that Superchip reprogrammed for use on your vehicle before you install it. If you try using it now, the vehicle will not start.
Also, you really should have complete documentation and installation instructions (more than just the manufacturer's -page doc), so you will know how to properly clean the J3 connector on the PCM before installing the Superchip. It's easy to do, but you do need thorough instructions on how to best do that.
We can take care of reprogramming that Superchip for you for quickly, as well as provide a fresh set of documentation/instructions for you, too.
It's against the rules of F-150 Online for us to discuss any specific pricing for parts or services here, so for that we have to ask that you please give us a quick call at our number listed below for that information, whenever you get a chance - and to have us make the arrangements to do that for you. We offer special pricing for reprogramming Superchips for registered members of F-150 Online such as yourself, so you'll find it's very cost-effective and a very fast turnaround.
Congratulations on your Superchip - you'll *love* what it does for that V10 once we load it with the correct program to match your vehicle's PCM code - those V10's pick up solid 30+ HP gains, & the top speed limiter will be history as well.
Good luck & talk to you soon!
