Thanks in advance
Thanks in advance
doubt it, I'm no expert but I've never seen used chips for sale?? What are they only good for one time? I could see why chips could be re-used, but how 'bout the programmers like the hypertech? can they be re-used?
sorry for no info, but I'm curious, too.

Hi JCTRUCK,
Yes, that Superchip certainly can be reprogrammed for us in a 2002 F-150, no problem - so no, you do NOT need a new chip, you can continue to use your present unit once it has been reprogrammed.
However, just as an side, that is probably the LAST model year that module can be reprogrammed for if it was purchased more than about a year or so ago, as the 2003 F-150's require a different type of module (which looks exactly the same as yours, except on the back it will say "SUPERCHIPS F" on a white sticker with a barcode below, which denotes the newer "F-revision" type of module).
So if it doesn't have that "F" connotation on the white sticker with a bar code on the back of it, it can't be reprogrammed for a 2003, but will be perfectly *fine* for use on any other 2002 or earlier F-150 (and many other pre-2003 FoMoCo vehicles).
If you'd like us to reprogram it for you, please feel free to give us a shout & we'll be happy to take care of that for you - we usually do same-day turnarounds on those, and at a very affordable price for F-150 Online members.
Good luck with your new truck - I'm sure you'll enjoy the increased HP & especially the higher torque at lower rpms in that 5.4 motor!
