Thanks!!! Mike T
Mike,
Just wanted to say thanks for getting the programming done on my chip. I got it last Friday and finally got a chance to put it in last night. Yipee!!!! It runs great. I can tell already the AFR is much better just in the sound of the engine. I really like the shift points and firmness. So far I have not had a chance to really get on it as we have such crappy roads with melting snow. I will try to get a data log done this weekend and send it to you so you can see how the chip is working.
Thanks again for all your work on this project with me.
Steve
Hi Steve,
Excellent!
Looks like we've been successful in getting around the issue of the '96-'98 EEC-V PCM's having the displacement being hard-coded, so that we could get a tune close enough to safely drive the vehicle so you can do the data-logging, etc.
We felt pretty sure that would work, as we discussed before - nice to see it looks like it has worked well enough to be able to datalog to see if any further tuning changes will be needed.
Fantastic!
Thanks for letting me know, I had been wondering about how that went, as I hadn't heard anything back from you - I figured you probably just had the kind of weather events we've been having, especially over the past week where we had 2 major snow/ice storms, power outages, etc.
I look forward to seeing your data - by the way, in case I didn't mention this before over the phone or via email, please make sure to also data log the O2 sensor voltages for both of the upstream O2's (both banks), as well as the fuel trims & all the other data as we discussed before - with the O2 voltages, we can at least get a look at the approximate A/F's being achieved, well enough so see if they are close to what we're actually commanding in the program.
So it sounds like we've got good news, & glad to hear it!
Talk to you soon,

Mike,
I sent you an e-mail this morning with a new data log file which has the chip installed. Please take a look and let me know what you think.
I am noticing when driving in town at 25 - 35mph there is some surging going on. I have been running 91 octane Phillips for fuel and I seem to have plenty of power. I do notice a little lag when shifting into 3rd.
I expect to get in to run another dyno in the next couple weeks if you need it to fine tune. Let me know.
Thanks,
Steve
