Mike T Data Logging Autotap

Hi Mike!
I got my Autotap interface and software last night. I was able to set it up and did some data logging. I sent an e-mail to you this morning with attachments which included the Autotap files as well as the CSV spreadsheet files.

Please let me know when you have looked at the data and let me know if you need additional data. It looks like STFT Bank2 is really out of whack.

Is there any possibility you can get a base level chip burned this week? I would really like to get the truck on the road and back to the dyno facility to see if they will re-run it and log data correctly.

Thanks,
Steve

Mike,
I found one of my problems with the rough running and the vibration on the 5.4. I had a loose fuel injection connector on the driver side of the motor. Connected it and made an incredible difference. No vibration at all. In fact, this is the best the truck has run since I swapped to the 5.4. I data logged again last night at Idle, 1k, 2k, 3k, 3.5k and 4k. I will send the results to you this morning.

I am also going to try and have the dyno re-run next week to get the AFR for you since the first run was no good.

I will give you a call today to discuss what my options are.

Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve,

Glad to hear you found an obvious injector problem & got that solved - and yes, you're absolutely right, that does nullify the previous dyno results with regard to the A/F's, etc. - and you'll make a bit more power, of course, too - however, that 1 misfiring injector alone is not the only cause the way-lean A/F's you had, it still needs tuning to compensate for the increased 50 cubic inches of displacement.

I tried to return your call today (Friday) by the way (at 1:30 pm eastern) , but your cell phone doesn't take voice mail. Call me whenever you can & we'll go over everything!

Mike,
Sorry about the cell phone. I will have to check it out at work as it is phone provided by them.

I will call on Monday. Can we get a base tune done so I can take it in and have a new dyno run?

Thanks!

Mike,
I changed the location of the PCM Engine Coolant Temp sensor to the original location, (removed the tee) and the data log seems much better. The DTC which I got last week indicated Insufficient Engine Coolant Temp to go to Closed Loop. I did the new data log last night and sent to you this morning. I sent it to the sales e-mail address.

Please give me a call when you have a chance to look at the data.

Thanks,
Steve
