"New" 1715 Question for Mike

Mike, I have the "old" 1715 MicroTuner, that I use both fdor my 97 F150 4.6l and for my 2002 Lightning.

What would the benefit be for buying a new model exclusively for the Lightning. I know it wouldn't be for a regular gas program, so what's the advantage?

Thanks,

Jim

Hi Jim,

Sure, I remember - you use it in the Lightning in summer & your other F-150 in winter - we have a number of people doing exactly that.

The advantage from the current Micro Tuner for the Lightning is if you have added a higher-boost pulley - the current 1715 MT has a custom tune for the Lightnings if it's using a 4 PSI pulley, in addition to the "standard" performance tune for stock boost levels. SO you have 2 different programs for all the factory-supercharged 5.4's in the Lightnings & Harleys, the "standard" tune and then a custom tune for a 4 PSI pulley.

In your non-Lightning F-150, the advantage is you would have 2 *additional* programs (total of 3), one for 87 octane that is towing compatible, then the same program you have now (premium gas towing-compatible, called "tow-perf"), and then another for premium gas that is *not* towing compatible - that's the "max" performance tune, and will get you another 8-10 HP over what the program in your current Micro Tuner will deliver to your non-Lightning F-150.

Nice to see you again, by the way!
