Hello Mike, it's great to see your customer service is still soooooo highly rated. It's been awhile, but you provided me great service on my 98 F-150 4.6. I purchased a chip from you and you were always there for any assistance. I've since upgraded to a 2002 F-150, SuperCrew, 4x4, 5.4. It's hard to get a unbias opinion due to your great loyality to your customers. I would like your opinion on the diffference between the Hypertech III & your Micro tuner. One thing I like better about the Hypertech is you can choose the fuel grade. It's my understanding I can get the same performance upgrades using 87 octane. In California, gas prices are very expensive. This vehicle will be my everyday driver and the price of gas is very important. Do you have any numbers regarding performance gains on both the Hypertech III & the Micro tuner. I'm not asking you to do my homework because I've been reseaching this for about a week. I would just like and respect your opinion. I just received my new Hypertech, but it's not too late for me to return it. I've moved the K&N intake from the 98 4.6 and put it on the 02 5.4. I also went with the 3" through-out series 50 Flowmaster exhaust system. I'm simply looking for the best overall performance. Thanks for your great continued service.

 

Mike still might be under the weather? I know he's usually pretty quick at responding. I've just learned the new micro tuner ALSO allows a 87-92 option. It's my understanding the micro tuner using the 92 octane program gives the 5.4 roughly 22HP. The micro tuner using the 87 octane program gives the 5.4 roughly 12 HP. Mike are these statements true? He also stated the Hypertech states a 12 HP gain on both the 87-92 programs.

I've already been over all of this many times here, and in those cases I don't type it all out all over again every time someone else asks the same basic info - that's what the search feature here is for. I suggest using the search feature to retrieve any of those many previous posts with that info & read them - that's much quicker than me typing it all over again.

I have spoken directly with Hypertech and now would like your educated opinion on why you think the Micro Tuner is a better choice. I find the biggest misconception about the Hypertech is it only works at WOT and that is not the case. It's just people aren't aware the Micro Tuner now offers duel fuel. I'm here to learn. Please stir me in the right direction for information on the hypertech in comparision to the Micro Tuner. Thank you!!
