super chip 1715

This question is for Mike Troyer. does the micro tuner have settings for shift points? If so, will they work in 87 octane mode?
Does changing to a cooler thermostat w/tuner allow for less
detination if I dont have high octane fuel available? Am I able
to use 160 or 180 t-stat in an obd ll vehicle? I noticed that
they are not available past 1998 in Summit performance mag.
Thanks for any advice!!

Read this thread about thermostats. Apparently the Lightnings come 180 degree stock and you can go down to 170. Part numbers are in that thread too. I'll be putting in a 180 or 170 in my 4.6L 98' next month, see if that slight ping goes away... darn FOU1 computer code.

thermostats

Thanks for the info. I'm still wondering if my computer will run ok
with post 1998 obd ll? My truck seems to run alot stronger &
even quieter befor it reaches full operating temps. Hoping to super
chip it & not run premium. maybe 89 octane without pinging.
sounds like the 170 will be just right.
