Pinging question
Hi Lonny,
I don't know what you had originally posted, as I never got a chance to see it before you called - and thanks for calling, by the way!
I enjoyed speaking with you again, and it'll be interesting to see your results from your next trip. Speaking of which, have a good time on your trip & enjoy your Thanksgiving!

OK People. I wont bore you with the details but basically I had a "ping" or "knock" that I was hearing under medium load and I wanted some info.
I am running the Micro tuner on "Perf" and have a magnaflow exh. and a AF intake.
After speaking with Mike he suggested a few possibilities that I tried during the Thanksgiving weekend trip.
Mike,
After filling up with Chevron 91, I have not heard any further noise. It must have been the CFN gas that was not up to par.
I have instructed my wife to continue use of the CFN fuel in all the vehicles EXCEPT the F150, and it will get Chevron exclusively.
Foot Notes:
CFN = Central Fueling Network
I used Chevron almost exclusively in my 1991 SHO for the first 160,000 miles. It now has 195,000 miles and still gets 91 octane but in the CFN variety.
Thanks again for the insight Mike.
P.S. The spellcheck on my email doesn't recognize "Magnaflow". It suggests "Megaflop"

Hi Lonny,
Ahh, that's great to hear -then it was just a fuel quality issue, as we suspected. Glad to hear the Chevron 91 octane took care of it - and this is exactly why we recommend using Chevron as the "default" gasoline in areas where premium gasolines are only 91 octane, as they generally have a consistently good high energy content, and gives better results.
Very glad to hear it, this was an easy cure.
See folks, this post is exactly why we harp so much about fuel quality - it *does* make a difference!
Thanks for letting us know Lonny, & have fun!
