v10 /tuner improvements
mike is was wondering what i could expect in performance gains in my 02 250 sd v/10 with your tuner and then with the air intake ,i have run the truck stock and ran 16.7@84mph in the 1/4 with 285 tires, already have the cat back exhaust thanks for the reply
Hi PT,
Typical results usually show 25+ HP at the rear wheels on the V10's, if not more. The highest gain on a stock V10 that I can recall at the moment was a tad over 32 HP, if memory serves - but the norm is more like 25+ HP or so at the wheels - about 10% more raw horsepower. The torque gains are even higher, usually ranging from 44 to 46+ lbs./ft., with the occasional 50+ lbs./ft. gain when the planets are aligned & the gods smiling.
However, you will get more improvement in ET from the Micro Tuner's optimization of the powertrain program than what a 25 HP gain would tend to indicate on paper in that heavy truck - usually we see a range of anywhere from about 4 tenths to 7 tenths off the 1/4 mile times on those V10's from the Superchips tuning.
The Air Force One intake system generally delivers about 2-3 tenths off the 1/4 mile times on a stock truck, and a little bit more with the Superchips tuning.
Give us a call if you'd like to go over any of this in more detail, or to get a great combo deal on the Micro Tuner and the Air Force One, etc.
Good luck with your V10!
