Mike, MicroTuner HELP please!
Mike, MicroTuner HELP please!
Just got my microtuner from you today. In the manual it says to pull the fuse for the fuel system. Is this just for the fuel pump? Or all fuses related to the fuel system? pump, injectors etc.
Hi SuperCrew,
One quick tip & I'll get to your answer right away..........
Any time you have a need to get a question answered quickly about any product you have purchased from us (like this matter), which is a Tech Support issue - you'll want to call us so we can get to you as quickly as possible. It's just luck that I was here this late & saw your post here at this time, thus I was able to respond fairly quickly - usually you won't get that quick a response since I stop by here just once per day.
OK, now let's get you taken care of..............
To answer your question, all you need to do is to remove the fuse for the fuel pump - not the fuel pump relay or anything else, just the fuse for the fuel pump itself.
In most of the 2001 & up F-150's, it's the number 10 fuse, but you need to double-check that in your vehicle's owners manual to make sure, OK? Don't just take my word for it, please make sure by checking your F-!50's owners manual. This is in the power distribution box (some call it a fuse box, same thing) under the hood we're talking about, on the driver's side.
As your Micro Tuner owners manual points out, please make sure to double-check your vehicle's owners manual to verify which fuse is for the fuel pump, as Ford has done it different ways over the years and changed it a number of times - usually it's the #10 fuse in your model year, but double-check that first please, OK?
The bottom line is, it's just the 1 fuse you need to remove, the fuel pump fuse - nothing else.
So that's it, a simple & quick answer, & now hopefully you can go ahead and install the Micro Tuner and start enjoying it!
Have fun & don't hesitate to call us if you need to.

Thanks so much for replying. I had pulled the wrong fuse and kept getting error in connection. Then I noticed there were multiple fuses related to the "fuel system". Out of curiosity, What has happened to those that did not pull the fuse for the fuel pump?
You're very welcome!
Usually what happens is the same as with you, getting a connection error and that causes no problems - you correct it & then do the installation. However, you don't want to depend on that for a "fail-safe," just follow directions as usual - and by now, you've got it down pat I'm sure.
