Stage 1 Jet Chip
Can anyone tell me if this is a good chip to buy?

I bought a Jet chip for my 97, Superchips did not have a chip yet, back in 1997 and when Mike T had a chip available I got the Superchips. Night and day. Funny thing, when I got my 00 I called Mike for a chip that day. While I was waiting I tried my jet chip and it worked. Two different PCM codes and the darn thing worked. That tells you that the Jet chip is not PCM specific but Generic. Soooooooo, by all means get the Jet chip. It will save you money as it will most likely run on the next 10 trucks you buy. 
If you want improved performance get a Superchips.

They are just over $200, Check out Troyer Performance for more details. Http://Troyerperformance.com and click on shop. They have listings for a lot of performance parts, and you can't beat the customer service. They are a great company to deal with. I have ordered many things from them. You can also call them and talk directly to them.

You'll be much happier with the Superchips tuning over the Jet tuning, as the Superchip is individual vehicle-specific and tunes for max power at any rpm, at any throttle opening, so it just plain works better. You'll get better power gains and better driveability with the Superchips tuning, which is why we use them on our vehicles.

Then you'll see the Superchips section on the next page (along with a lot of other fun stuff!), and once you go into the Superchips section, there you'll want to read up on Part#'s 1100 (the single program Superchip) #1300 (the 2-program Superchip Flip Chip) and then finally, Part# 1715, the Micro Tuner. Those are the 3 different Superchips products that will work on these Fords.
