Question Tuner for 4.2 five speed

Any news on the Tuner for the ford 4.2 yet ? I really want to buy a chip , but as my luck runs I would order one today and the tuner would come out Monday ! Don't know if I should wait for the tuner or go ahead and call Troyer Performance and order a chip !!!!! Charlie

I just got a used chip for now and am having it reburnt, and that way if the tuner comes out I can just sell the chip and not loose a whole lot on it.

Hi Charlie,

We know just how you feel - and we can't tell you for sure just when the 4.2 V6 will be going in, only that it we feel it will be added in the not-too-distant future. Exactly when that will be we can't say as the 1715 *just* got a major upgrade - we're hoping to see the 4.2 V6 before year's end.

The minute we have something we feel is more concrete, we'll be letting everyone know in a new thread posted right here so everyone will see it.

Here's one thing to give thought to see if this might apply to you - if you're going to hang on to that vehicle for a while like most of us, and if there is any chance you're going to be doing anything more to it than our Stage 1 kit, then it'll need bigger injectors thus custom tuning (which is easily done), so you'd need to use the traditional Superchip module *anyway*.

I hope that info helps a bit, & we'll let everyone know the minute we have anything solid on 4.2 V6 in the Micro Tuner.
