Superchips chip problem?
Hi, I have a problem with my truck, a 2000 Lightning, last night when I was pulling into my garage the truck just died for no aparent reason and I tried to restart it but it just wont star, it was late at night so I just pushed it into the garage and left it there, I checked the chip a Superchips 2 program chip for a Cux2 that I got from Mike Troyer and its on place and it doesn't feal loose or anything, and also the spedometer shows no miles anymore it just shows somenthing like this (- - - - - - -) and thats it, you guys have any ideas of what the problem could be? should I pull the chip out and see if it works, I haven't tried anything yet, thanks a lot for any help.
Gilberto,
If you purchased the Superchip from us, then you should already know what to do because it's right there in your documentation.
This sounds like a very simple issue of a poor connection between the PCM's connector and the Superchip - obviously the signals aren't getting thru & that's why it's not starting and/or stalling, and this is also why you're getting all dashes on the digital odometer. Very simple to fix, just read your docs & re-do the installation from scratch.
You simply need to go back and read your documentation thoroughly and do what it says. We give you all the instructions on exactly how to install the Superchip as well as what to do if you have this kind of problem (meaning a stall or a no-start). It's right there in the 4-5 pages of highly detailed additional documentation that we write, it has our Performance Products logo at the top of the first page. We also go over very clearly how to get Tech Support or help in our documentation - in several places it clearly states to **call us** if you have a problem - we mention very specifically *not* to post problems here on F-150 Online, because it is against the rules here for vendors to provide Tech Support here.
So it's kinda obvious that you're not reading your documentation, & that is where you need to start.
We're more than happy to help any of our customers, but the first thing you need to do is go back and read your documentation and do what it says. Forget guessing, forget wiggling the chip, etc., that isn't going to fix the problem - you need to go back and read your documentation and completely re-do the installation from scratch. That takes all of maybe 30 minutes. And if after doing that, it doesn't get you up & running again, then *please* give us a call for Tech Support & we'll be more than happy to help you with this.
