Two questions for Mike...
Two questions for Mike...
Hey Mike,
1. Has the SCMT for the 7.3L PSD been improved recently? The one we have for our 03' 7.3L has two settings; 'Tow-Safe' and 'Performance'. Is it now three different settings available? If so, is ours upgradeable?
2. When OH When will you have a SCMT for my 6.0L
Im dying here!!
Are you still on track for September-ish?

Hi Bikenut,
No, you can't change an existing Micro Tuner into something else, it's always going to be what it is. The only way to get the 3-program unit is to have the newer style of Micro Tuner, which was just released recently. The newer unit has a significantly different design internally, in addition to some tuning changes. The new #1705 has the same 60-70 HP & 80-90 HP programs, & then a new 110 HP program is now built into it. We had always offered the 100-110 HP "Extreme" programs in the traditional Superchip module, and now it's available in the Micro Tuner, so there really isn't any big change that you don't have, just the 110 HP program that still requires the same numerous additional modifications to be able to use that the Extreme programs have always required. You still have the same restrictions with the higher power programs, I.E., only the lowest-power program allows you to still tow up to the factory limit, then the other higher power programs require EGT gauge, an intake kit & a good turbo-back exhaust, etc.
6.0 PSD is still going to be a while (we know, everyone is screaming for it!!!), it's using the ptech PCM as we've discussed before. We're hoping for release here sometime in the next couple of months, so yes, we're still hoping we can meet a September-ish time frame. What I can say publicly is that we *will* have the 6.0 PSD's done here in the not-too-distant future, and when they are, the gains will be well worth the wait.
I just went & took a look at your sig. for your new 6.0 PSD, if that Gibson exhaust has a larger 4" downtube, you've already got the intake & exhaust mods required for the 110 HP program, just need an EGT gauge if that isn't already there. I see you have XM radio in your setup, how do you like it? Service good, reception good, etc.? Just curious...........
Thanks for touching base Bikenut, always good to see you again!

Mike,
Thanks for the thorough reply
I guess it may be a blessing in disguise having to wait for the SCMT for the 6.0; It will give me time to get those gauges installed before the programmer is applied
Im thinking of ISSPRO inlet pyro. , Boost and trans. temp. Do you agree with that setup?
You dont have a ballpark price for the 6.0L SCMT yet do ya?
I Do not, at this time, have the downpipe. Mainly because when Gibson designed the system for my truck, they did not feel it was necessary to replace the downpipe. They did say they may call me back in to do the downpipe, but have'nt yet. Do you suggest replacing the downpipe? I do not want to replace the Cat. unless it's really necessary...
XM-
I LOVE IT! I have'nt listened to a CD or FM since I got it about 1 month ago. Reception is outstanding and quality/clarity is, I dare say, better than CD alot of times. It's so crystal clear it's hard to get used to at first. You do loose reception under heavy structure (like in slow moving traffic under a big overpass). But you still dont get static, just quiteness which is just fine with me.
If you decided to go with either Sirus or XM, get the Terk low profile magnetic antenna. It looks better and can be pulled off for cleaning/waxing.

Hi Bikenut,
Pricing on the 6.0 PSD Micro Tuner will be the same as all other Micro Tuners, no change there. All the Micro Tuners, regardless of whether it's for a Ford, GM or Mopar, have the same price. (To see the exact cost, drop by our site at www.TroyerPerformance.com)
That gauge selection sounds fine, tranny temp, boost level & EGT are indeed exactly the top 3 choices to look at in the PSD. If you haven't sourced the gauges yet, feel free to let us quote you on them.
On the downpipe, you don't have to have that unless you want to run the higher power programs, you don't need it for the 60-70 HP programs.
Thanks much for the feedback on the XM radio, very helpful!

HI Bikenut,
Yes, you're absolutely right.
The Gauges section was supposed to go up next, but first thing we've got to do right now is to delete all the Granatelli MAF's and re-do that section as we changed over to Pro-M for our MAF's, due to changes in the relationship between Pro-M & Granatelli. Pro-M of course has always made all the Granatelli MAF's & just put Granatelli's name on them (typical OEM deal), and in addition to MAF's for Fords, they (Pro-M) only sold their GM vehicle MAF's thru Granatelli instead of direct, so we used Granatelli as it was simpler & we got Pro-M units for both Fords & GM's. But here just very recently, Granatelli now wants to use someone else to supply them with their MAF's (they don't make their own), so right now they can't even calibrate their own MAF's!! So that's the first thing we need to change, putting the Pro-M MAF's up in place of the Granatelli units, & then we can get back to adding all the additional sections to represent more of what we actually carry, including gauges.
That's a very long way (sorry) of saying "Yes, please do call us" for info & pricing on the gauges & gauge pods.
