Updating Tuner

Mike,
I have a SCMT for a 2002 250 Powerstroke. Just traded the truck and bought an '03 screw.
Question--can Superchips reprogram the tuner to work with the 5.4?

I've still got the box and receipts etc., if that makes any difference..

Chris

I assume the Microtuner falls in the same catagory.

Hi Chris,

No, the Micro Tuner cannot be "changed" or "updated" to work on a completely different type of vehicle than what it was originally designed for.

What you have is either a #1700 or #1705 Micro Tuner, which is for the Powerstroke diesel engines *only*. It will always be a Micro Tuner *only* for Powerstroke diesel engines, it can't be changed into anything else.

You will need a #1715 Micro Tuner to work on that SuperCrew.

You can read up on all the various Micro Tuners and the exact platforms & engines that each one supports over at our web site, www.TroyerPerformance.com - click on "shop" when the home page loads, and then you will see the Superchips section.

You have 2 options at this point, the best of which is to post your current unit for sale here in the free Classified Ads section, as people are always looking for bargains there. Your other option would be to do a trade-in deal with us, which we're happy to do (call us for details & costs), however, as always, you would get more for it by selling it outright.

Give it some thought, & call us if you'd like to go over the numbers, ask questions, etc., we'll be happy to help any way we can.

Good luck!
