Question for Mike

Mike, I have a chip I purchased from you a few years ago for a 99 F-150, 5.4. I now have a '03 7.3 diesel. Can it be reprogramed for the new truck?

Per Mike's response here, the chips are physically different.

Hi Mikey88,

As Ed kindly mentioned in his response & via the link he quoted, the Superchip modules for the gasoline engines are different than those for the diesel engines, and one cannot be reprogrammed for the other.

The Ford V10 gasoline engine and the PSD's (Powerstroke diesel) take a different Superchips module, the gold one, PN# 1200, where your previous Superchip is the blue #1100 unit, so it cannot be reprogrammed for a PSD or a V10.

You'll need to either sell your existing Superchip here in the F-150 Online Classified Ads section & use that to partially offset the cost of the correct new Superchip module or Micro Tuner for that PSD (and I'd suggest the Micro Tuner), or if you don't want to wait to find a buyer, we do offer a trade-in deal that might work for you. Just give us a quick call to go over the numbers on that.

Good luck & talk to you soon!
