Just installed my superchip, what to expect?
I noticed that my first 1-2 shift happened at about 3500 rpm, second time 4500 rpm, third time was around 6000? Anyway, hard to say that I really notice any huge difference yet because I have only put about 6 miles on it. What improvements and percentige will I feel at first and when can I expect to have 100% ?
This is a 98 F-150 4X4 SC/SB/SS W/5.4
I am also running a 40 series flowmaster in place of the stock muffler and I have the K&N filter charger installed. New complete K&N cold air set up should be here and installed tomorow.

Hi Painkiller,
Interesting screen name, maybe you'll tell us about that some time!
As Gearhead mentioned, you won't see 6000 rpm with the Superchip, you generally won't see anything more than a 5400 rpm (max) WOT upshift point (assuming the factory tach is accurate), that's the highest we'll go, and some of them are a bit lower. You'll get a better feel for that as you drive it more, of course.
In terms of what to expect from the Superchip, this is a frequently asked "basic," & thus has been covered many, many times here. The best thing to do is to use the search feature to access all the thousands of posts that are already here about anything like that, and the icon for the search feature is in the upper right area of your screen here, and it's your key to all the information on F-150 Online. Just FYI..............
It will take a lot more than 6 miles for the Superchip to deliver 100%, that will take a couple of tanks of premium gas at a minimum. Though the power gains do start right away of course, it'll take 500 miles or so to get the full 100% from it, just to give you an idea.
The thing to do to get you the best answer is to measure the actual *performance* of the vehicle, both before and after the Superchip. Do some accurately measured timed acceleration runs, both before and after the Superchip, to see the effects on your 0-60 & 1/4 mile times. We recommend using the G-Tech Pro Competition model for this, as it's affordable and more accurate than the previous units, an excellent informal tool for evaluating performance.
You can usually expect about a half-second off your 0-60 & 1/4 mile times from the Superchips tuning in these late-model F-150's, with some people seeing as much as a full second off those times. This will vary based on exact engine, gear ratio, but mainly the *weight* of the vehicle, as there is well over 3000 lbs., of potential weight difference from the lightest to the heaviest F-150 configurations.
I hope that info helps, & have fun with your Superchip!
