Micro Tuner and FT valvebody?
Can I get a Micro Tuner for my truck even though I already have the FT valvebody taking care of my shifts? I am thinking that I will have to get the regular chip since the Micro Tuner is pre-set with specific configurations, and may not account for the valvebody being installed? Mike or anyone? Thanks.

Hi Brian,
That's one of the great things about the Micro Tuner, it gives you the ability to go in and adjust your own shift firmness levels for each gearchange individually, the 1-2, the 2-3 & the 3-4. You have the ability to adjust that, and usually what you'll want to do is set the shift firmness about 3-4 "notches" below the middle setting as a starting point, when you first program your vehicle. Then drive it for a while, and see if the light-throttle shifts are soft enough. If so, you don't need to do anything else. If the light-throttle shifts are too firm, then just go back in and take the shift firmness level all the way down to minimum, & that will take care of it.
You're right in that this is a consideration with Gregg's valve body, but the Micro Tuner can easily handle that for you, so you can still use the Micro Tuner with that modification.
Basically, you can use the Micro Tuner as long as you do not have modifications that will require custom *engine* tuning. You'll have control over shift firmness levels for the automatic transmission in the Micro Tuner, so you can do mods like that valve body, or a shift kit, etc & still use the Micro Tuner in regular F-150's, Expeditions, etc.
Give us a call if you'd like to go over this in more detail, etc.

Great post Mike. I am happy that I can still get the tuner since I had changed my wheels/rims over a year ago from 235/16's to 285/17's and wanted to correct that eventually, along with the performance increases. Now all I have to do is find some cash laying around. Thanks again.

Hi Brian,
You're very welcome, and it sounds like you're in the same boat as the rest of us, we all just need to find/earn/make/save/get spousal approval/forget the spouse I want power/etc. that cash we all need for our modifications.
All kidding aside, yes, the Micro Tuner can take care of your tire size change, a gear ratio change, adjusting the shift firmness for your valve body, etc. all in the same upload/installation of the Micro Tuner, very easy!
