150 chip in 250 powerstroke?
Hi c-helix,
No, I'm afraid not, the PSD's & V10's use a different module, the #1200 Gold module.
The Superchip you have can be reprogrammed to work on just about any 1987-2002 FoMoCo vehicle with a gasoline engine with the exception of the V10's, 2000 & up Lincoln LS series and any other non-EEC FoMoCo's, like the 2002 & up Explorer SportTrac, etc. It can't be reprogrammed to work on any FoMoCo with a PSD (Powerstroke diesel) or a V-10.
One option is to offer your current Superchip for sale here on F-150 Online over in the Classified Ads section, it's free & easy, and *many* people are always searching for a bargain on used Superchips if they can find one with the matching code so they don't have to pay to have it reprogrammed. If it has any relatively common code, it will usually find a new home without too much trouble, then you can use those funds to offset the cost of getting the new Superchip module with the correct program for that '96 PSD.
Or, we can also do a trade-in deal if the module is in good shape, you just won't get quite as much for it if you take that route, is the only thing. Sometimes people will opt to go that route with us so they don't have to wait to find a buyer for their current chip, etc., and can get the big power gains we achieve in those PSD's & enjoy it right away. Give us a call when you get a chance to go over the exact numbers, and then you can decide if that works for you or not!
