Grinomyte-

Sounds familiar. The defence is calling up witnesses tomorrow, then it's closing arguments. I hope we'll get it done tomorrow, but in all fairness, we'll just have to let the trial run its course. It'
s tough.

On a good note, I recieved my fans today from Mike and Anita Troyer. The kit just looks durable, and the instructions are first rate. I love the install. pictures.

Mike- I'll be calling you next week regarding the "tap" point for the AC.
Thanks again for the speedy, thorough service.

Guys, my e' fan and underdrive pulley kit from Mike is now installed. As with every mod I have recieved from Mike these are top quality and perform as advertised. It's rare that you find someone as knowledgeable in a particular area as Mike is and he and his staff are committed to quality service and support. Heck, before I found someone here in NC to install the fan and pulley kit, I was going to drive 6 hours to Mike's place to ensure the job was done correctly. The other mods I have done include the micro tuner, AirForce One FIPK, and a magnaflow muffler. The only other engine mod I can do with the micro tuner I believe is to up grade my ignition and wiring. I have been please with every mod so far. At one time I was really disappointed in the performance of my 4.6 with the pinging noise to boot. But after following Mike's advise on which mods to add and later test driving a 2003 F150 5.4 with 3.73 gears, I realized my truck is now just as strong and even out performs the newer trucks. Next year I am going to regear with a set of 4.10s. The only problem I have found with adding performance mods is that I am sorry I waited so long. I was actually considering trading my truck because it was such a dog as far as performance before the mods. As soon as I added the micro tuner and FIPK, the pinging problem was gone forever and my truck would actually jerk under large acceleration and I could now spin the tires from a stand still. Oh it's no racer (YET), but it's a far cry from stock...forget the gas prices, I can't ever see going back to stock. The other problem with performance mods is that they become contagious and it's like money, you never have enough and want more. Who knows next year this time I might be talking to Mike about one of his more aggressive performance package for my truck and add up to 150+ HP. I am glad I found the F150 Online forum because all of the guys on the board have been very helpful. I installed a 3" spindle lift kit with blocks and the road master suspension kit in the rear using instructions off the board and I know nothing about turning a wrench.

Get rid of my truck with 72,000 miles and no payments, no problems, looks sharp inside and out, best cruiser on the highway of the vehicles we have, and has the performance to boot, I don't think so.

Take care all.

Hey Crain

How did the install go? I'm trying to decide on whether or not I should just do the install myself. The instructions are clear, but I'm not sure I have the right electrical tools ( I could always buy more form Sears). Anyway, congrats on the install.

Hi crain,

Glad to hear your parts are installed, excellent! With our fan kit & undferdrive pulleys, you just picked up another ~30 peak HP to the rear wheels, a gain that can definitely be felt. It also should help your gas mileage.

Thanks very much for your kind works, they're greatly appreciated, we're glad you're enjoying a now much quicker truck.

It's especially nice to be in your situation, where the truck is paid for, has relatively low miles & is in great shape to boot, many people would like to be in that position. In fact, there are some customers of ours who literally figure that whatever they used to shell out for the monthly payment, that's their new budget for modifications - that's when you know you've got it bad, err, I mean, good??

All kidding aside, thanks for your post & have fun with the added power!

MF150,

Hi Matt...I've been away this week so it's taken a little time to post a reply to your question. I had my fan and pulley kit installed by a local mustang shop. They did a great job. It took the installer 4 hours to complete the job. He had no problem installing the fan kit...instructions were clear and Mike was only a phone call away. I've done a few installs myself, but I didn't want to tackle any electric stuff although as you have seen, the instructions that come with Mike's kit was designed for the shade tree mechanic. So, I probably could have figured it out. Nevertheless, for piece of mine I decided to go with a professional to do the install. Without a doubt, the fans and pulleys are one of the best installs I have done to date besides the micro tuner. The fans run so quiet that you will probably be checking under the hood from time to time until you get use to them to make sure they are working.

Good luck with your install. Let us know your impression of the fans once installed and you have had a chance to test them out.

Hey Crain-

Thanks for replying. I'm having mine installed on July 8. My mechanic friend is going to let me work on the truck at his shop. It's kind of a failsafe plan, because I am not too sure about electrical stuff, either. I'll let you know how it goes, but I'm sure I will be happy with the mod.

Im buying an electric fan tomorrow hopefully. Its a FAL 15" Black Magic. Its a single fan, 2800cfm, draws just over 13 amps. Comes with built in adjustable thermostat. They are normally 190 at Advance Auto Parts, but my buddy taht works there is getting me his employee discount, 20%.

Mike, you need to put together a single fan kit cause people like me cant afford 350 big ones for the dual kit. A single fan would probably be just right for me. I looked at imperial fans, there was a 16 inch 1200cfm fan, but that doesnt even touch the FAL fan.

Read this one, it is a slick, inexpensive setup: https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...hreadid=108957

If you have any questions, particularly about a source for the fan or the wiring and controls, send me an e-mail.

Mikes setup is great.

I went a tad cheaper route with dual 16" Perma-cool fans with a Perma-cool adjustable relay switch. Total price for doing is custom was ~ $220

Cool

HI!... A single fan set-up is garbage for these trucks. Go with a twin 16" fan set-up or stay with your factory clutch fan. That 13 amps that "FAL" is quoting is while the fan is already running. It will pull close to or over 40 amps at start-up.

Ok, i dont care about amperage, its still less than two fans. Besides, why would I need two fans??? I have a 4x2, so i dont go offroading. I have the same engine thats in the Mustang GT which uses a single fan. The GTs have no problems staying cool. Even the cousin of my manager has a supercharged mustang, ported polished, 14psi, stock fan, NEVER over heats. And he drives that thing hard!

I think everybody is cought up in the dual fan scene compared to just a single fan. I dont think people realize that you only need one fan unless you are going to do some heavy duty hauling or offroading.

Two fans may be overkill. For myself, I will do what it takes to keep this engine going...and trying to save a few dollars at the risk of damaging my engine seems a little foolish. Also, in maintaining the warranty covverage on my engine, the dual fans will definitely meet or exceed the capabilities of the stock fan, so the dealer would not be able to say that I UNDERCOOLED my engine and caused any damage myself.
