How high can I go?

As far as octane is concerned in my 4.2 with a superchip? It is programed for premium and 87 (flip chip)

So how high and how low can I go?

Thanks

Hi WW256,

On the 87 octane side (Side 1), you need to use nothing less than a good quality 87 octane, and don't use more than 89 octane.

On the premium gas program (Side 2), you will need to use whatever octane is the normal pump premium in the area that we shipped it to when it was originally ordered. For example, for our customers out West, on Side 2 they can use their local 91 octane premiums, because that is what they generally have access to out there, they can't get 93 octane. Whereas here in the East, they need to use 92 or preferably 93 octane. Generally, West of about Texas we tune Side 2 for use on at least 91 octane, and from Texas all the way back East Side 2 is tuned for 93 octane.

The highest octane you can use with the program for premium gas on Side 2 of our Dual Octane Flip Chip is about 94 to maybe 95 at most, any more octane than that is a pure waste of money as there won't be any further power gain. In practical terms, usually you won't find any pump premium higher than Sunoco's Ultra 94, *if* you can find that.

Good luck!
