V-10 And Micro-tuner
V-10 And Micro-tuner
Well, I just bought a microtuner for my 2001 F150 after contemplating it for over a year and now I wonder why I waited so long!!!
Great Job MIke!!! I love it.
O.K. Now for a question.
My buddy has a 2001F350 Superduty with a V-10 and I was wondering if I set my truck back to stock will the 1715 Microtuner be able to be used on his Superduty so he can try it out before he buys one from Mike?

Hi Thor,
Sure, you can return your vehicle back to stock, and then use the same Micro Tuner to tune your friend's 2001 V10 so he can try it, just exactly as you mentioned. And that can be done time after time, the only limitation is that the Micro Tuner will only tune *1* vehicle at a time.
The V10's have *horrible* factory tuning with extremely long power delays, etc., so in addition to the 27-31 hp gain, the performance is improved even further by optimizing those power delays, etc. properly. The V10's have the worst power delays of any of these trucks, so it's a pretty obvious result when you install the Superchips tuning, either via the traditional Superchip or the Micro Tuner, that the performance has been noticeably improved, just as you experienced.
You may have waited a long time, but at least now you're finally enjoying the Superchips tuning in that V10!
Have fun & we'll be happy to help your friend once he gets a chance to check it out.

Hi Ed,
You're exactly right, and when the F-150 Micro Tuner was originally released, it did NOT do the V10's, that was a much later add-on.
We're having that changed in our online ordering system here, as well as on our web site, so that everyone will be able to instantly see that the 1715 F-1509 Micro Tuner works on the V10 SuperDuty trucks as well.

Actually Mike I haven't let him try it in that Superduty yet....I can't part with the programmer
After he tries it I will have him contact you for his own programmer so I can have mine back!!!
