1999 Powerstroke 350, What chip?
Just picked up a 1999 350 PSD, and do a lot of towing, my loader, supplies etc, and would like more power. Also, I am getting a bit bigger tires next week, so will need even more power. There is nothing like smoking a little jap car with some dumbass in it in a 1 ton truck!
Any input appreciated.

Hi "Tommy,"
Hands down, the Superchips tuning is the way to go. It's the only one that tunes each vehicle individually, according to it's exact PCM hardware & software revision, that tunes for more power on both part-throttle as well as full-throttle, and that is still 50-state CARB & EPA emissions approved, nobody else offers all of that, only Superchips.
The way to go here is the Superchips Micro Tuner, as you'll get 2 different performance programs that can be uploaded without even touching the PCM in 8-10 minutes thru a simple plug & play connection to the OBD-II port inside the cabin of your F-350 PSD. One program gains 60 HP and the other than gains 80 HP, and with those, you'll be able to smoke just about any little ricer that you come up against, unless you come up against some escapee from the set of "The Fast & the Furious."
We gain more power *safely*, and at lower EGT's than our competitors, but then Superchips has been tuning these PSD's far longer than anyone else, they have much more R&D into that platform. We also and deliver nice mpg gains too, anytime you are towing, or when driving empty at higher speeds (70-80 mph & up), so in time, if you work that motor, this device can more than pay for itself with 2-4 mpg gains when the motor is under a load. You won't see miracles like 3 more mpg just putting around town at 30-50 mph, for example, the motor has to be working under a load to see those mpg gains.
If you'd like to go over this in any more detail, please feel free to give us a call & we'll be happy to.
You can order the Superchips Micro Tuner or the traditional Superchip module for your 1999 PSD thru our online ordering system, which you can access just by clicking on the link below in our signature line.
One quick but important point here, and that is, with our tuning your top speed limiter will be gone, so if you drive at 100 mph or faster, you'll need to make sure your tires are properly speed rated, as the factory tires won't stand sustained triple-digit speeds.

I had a F350 Duallie PSD with a Superchip in it. It was to say the least, outstanding. That low end torque was like a rocket, launching with the tires burning....shocked quite a few Stangs and ricers. Loved it. Now I need to come up with the cash to do the mods to my new truck. Go with a Superchip, you will NOT regret it.
Hi Tommy,
There are *plenty* of mods you can do to a PSD to raise it's power & performance. In terms of what is most cost-effective, by far you'll want to start out with the Superchips Micro Tuner, as nothing else wil come close to those power gains for so little cost. Simply put, that is the first mod to do, and by far the biggest gob of power you can get for that little cost.
Then next in the order of bang-for-the-buck would be to install the Air Force One intake system to reduce restriction in the air intake tract. Then next up comes a turbo-back exhaust system with larger downpipe, etc., to reduce restriction on the exhaust side.
There's no limit to how far we can take the performance of any PSD, it's a matter of the vehicle owner's available budget & how much power they want.
The way to start out is with the Micro Tuenr, as the Superchips tuning is going to give you a *minimum* of a 60 HP & 115 lbs./ft. of torque gain, and that's *huge* for so little cost, nothing else comes close in terms of bang for the buck. And you can continue to use that same tuning when you do other mods too, intake, exhaust, propane injection, etc.
Give us a call to go over this in detail, we can go over the things you can do, what they cost & how much difference they'll make, as well as lay out a good plan of mods...........I.E., what to do in what order so you get the most cost-effective enhancements to your performance with no mistakes & no money wasted, etc.
